If only one museum is on your itinerary for London, you just have to go for The Victoria and Albert Museum over any other! I know that some of you only enjoy shopping and restaurants in London (You know who you are!!) But I promise you that this is sooo worth it.
V&A’s enormous and diverse collection will leave you captivated. The Fashion and Jewellry collection might be the most fascinating I have ever seen. The V&A houses one of the largest collections of fashion and textiles in the world, dating back to the 17th century in its permanent Fashion Gallery. It covers fashion in the last four centuries and the latest in couture. Everything was amazing. I especially loved looking at all of the royal dresses and haute couture from ages past. It is a must see for all those interested in fashion and collectables. Here are some of my visit's highlights.

The above photo is for an evening dress designed in 1935 by Madeleine Vionnet
Beautiful deconstructed dress with sculptural shape designed by Alexander Mcqueen in 2000
I think this floral dress was designed in the 50's
Two suits designed in the 60's.
Dress designed by Ossie Clark in 1970
Ensemble designed by Turkish-born fashion designer Rifat Ozbek in 1992. Loved the military reference on the vest
The above photo is of a wedding dress created in the 18th century when women had colored wedding dresses which they continued to wear for special occasions long after their wedding (practical!) And because muslin was easier to wash than silk, white became a practical option and women began to wear it for their marriages.
Evening dress and jacket by Catherine Walker designed in 1989 and worn by Princess Diana for her official visit to Hong Kong.
Evening dress designed by Yves Saint Laurent for Christian Dior in the early 60's. Doesn't it look like one of the LV runway dresses for Fall 2010? Fashion really does go through a cycle
Green dress designed in 1976 by Roy Halston Frowick
Woven silk shoe with red leather designed in 1790
An illustration of a device for rotating the fashion machine. So true!
