Just Like Isabel Marant...

On the subject of Juan-les-Pins , check out what stopped me in my tracks! There shoes were on the window display of one of the shops, I swear I thought the Isabel Marant boots were real, the glitter of the bekket sneakers was an instant no-brainer indicator that those were fake as well. Thought I'd share....

Je aime Jean Les Pins

I could have spent every single day of my Côte d'Azur vacation on the beach in Juan-les-Pins or simply just hanging there, and I'd probably feel like I've had a very rewarding trip. OK not every single day but most days. Juan-les-Pins was the perfect Summer getaway, lazy days, long Summer nights, great food (the.BEST.crepe.I.ever.had.EVER!), and lively yet relaxed at the same time. The streets at night were filled with people eating out and chilling in open-air restaurant, or shopping at the small boutiques lined up on the narrow streets or the flea market (my fave) until the early hours. This was my 3rd time visit to Juan-les-Pins , and I hope it won't be the last. Check out these photos of some of the merchandise which was being sold along the beach at night. I love these knick-knacks and they're so budget-friendly too. rings made out of wood, mother-of-pearl, and other natural materials The 80's called they want their carved shells

Beautiful in Black

Weddings and party season is just a couple of weeks away, are you armed already? If not, here are some classy and elegant approaches to glamour that will surely stand the test of time. I just received an e-mail from DarUsha boutique, which is located at Burj Jassim in Kuwait City, informing me that they have received a selection of evening gowns and cocktail dress by Malaysian based fashion designer Khoon Hooi . Show off these beautiful gowns with your highest killer heels and some emerald or jade jewelry to give a stunning finish to your party/wedding look. The new arrivals will be on display at the store tomorrow Saturday. DarUsha has been previously featured on my blog here .

Quirky Cool Cannes

In my previous post about Where to Shop in Cannes , I forgot to mention this really quirky cool boutique called Bathroom Graffiti . Located at Rue d'Antibes , the boutique sells all sorts of fun pop culture stuff and a unique selection of modern furniture and contemporary plastic chairs by Kartell . It also sells decorative items , gifts , and funky t-shirts with Kate Moss, Karl Lagerfeld. This is the perfect place to find gifts and souvenirs for your family or friends, especially for those who have everything or are difficult to please. Bathroom Graffiti is not very pricey either so don't worry about their price tags. A colorful 50's inspired wire-chair. You can find something similar on the The-Yard's homeware collection. "I pity the fool!"/Mr. T ashtray This ashtray reminded me of  the punchy graphic comic designs created by Phillip Lim and Markus Lupfer .

Picasso Exhibition in Cannes

We were strolling down the Croisette when we saw ads promoting Pablo Picasso's Exhibition being held at Le Centre d'art La Malmaison . So we immidietly headed to the exhibition's location since it was just a few blocks away. The exhibition, titled Picasso, Les chemins du Sud , which basically means ‘Picasso, Paths of the South', showcased major works by the artist like paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and more all created after he settled in Vallauris in southeast France between 1950 and 1967. We managed to snap photos of two of our favorite pieces in the exhibition, featured here. If you appreciate such exhihibitions and planning to go to Cannes in September, then you'd love this exhibition. It will be held until 30th September 2012.

Call me Maybe?

What I love about owning an iPhone, in addition to apps and all, is the never ending selections of stylish and fun iPhone cases. I'm currently using a DanniJo case which I got from Goji Boutique a couple of months back and was sold out within hours. The good news is that now Goji Boutique have a new stock of these super chic cases available online, in addition to some mouthwatering necklaces and rings by Mr. DanniJo , as seen on The uber-chic The Man Repeller. Check them out here .

Where to Shop in Cannes?

After our cultural trip to Istanbul, Turkey, our second destination was the French Rivera. And it was the laziest trip I have ever had in ages!! It was all about eating, chillaxing, cruising the Côte d'Azur (Cannes, St. Tropez, and Jean Les Pins), beach bumming, and soaking up the sun. And naturally I had to squeeze in some shopping too, but I only shopped for several hours during my entire stay! believe it or not! I have noticed after my Istanbul posts, I have received a lot of e-mails asking me of recommendations on where to go, shop, and eat. So I've decided to write dedicated posts to address your inquiries, which reminds me, I need to post about restaurants where we has the most scrumptious meals in Istanbul. More on that later. Today's post is about giving my own perspective on shopping in Cannes. One thing's for sure, it's not London, so I didn't shop for days! High-end designer boutiques like Chanel , Louis Vuitton , Gucci , Balenciaga , Celin

Shopping at Beymen

And from taking a culture trip in Istanbul to taking a shopping trip to Beymen , one of Istanbul's main luxury fashion destination, and your one-stop-shop to the best in designer brands in fashion and beauty. It felt like a mini version of Harvey Nichols, very well-curated selection of designer brands, the ground floor was dedicated to bags, accessories, and beauty stuff. And there was an entire floor dedicated for shoes and handbags, yup total bliss! As soon as I found out that they stocked Isabel Marant , I immediately  asked about their sneakers for a friend of mine. The sales guy laughed and was like 'Honey you're way too late, the sneakers sold out in a couple of hours', believe me! I'm not surprised! So I headed to their pret-a-porter section in the basement where they had new arrivals as well as some items from the sale. I fell in love with this on-sale hippie-style embroidered leather jacket from Dsquared2 . It looks like as if you're wearing a tribal

Under the Sea... Shells

I've had an intense affection for Celestina shell clutches ever since I saw them almost 3 years ago. I didn't buy one back then because I thought it was just another hype (little did I know), and when I did seriously consider buying it, it was already sold out. Today while browsing Moda Operandi , and years after I've last seen the Celestina shell clutch, I've found it right there shinning in front of me. The most important thing is that this bag is different in every way from what else is being put out there, and I have learned the hard way that it will definitely stand the test of time. Check out the entire collection here . Now the question is, which one should I go for....

Inspirations for Caftans from the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum

' That would make a really cool Ramadan caftan! ' that's the first thing that crossed my mind when we visited the the Ethnographic Museum , located at the ground level of Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art . At the Ethnographic museuem you get to learn about the lifestyle of the Turks and their ancestors. I was instantly drawn to the details of their clothing and the way they layer their clothes and accessorize them, truly fascinating! If you're into designing caftans, this place is a true inspiration! 18th-19th century wooden sandals beautifully decorated with mother-of-pearl Check out how fancy their towels were, these are from the 17th century if I'm not mistaken The Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art, located at Sultanahmet area, showcases a big selection of jewelry, carpets, rugs, calligraphy, and pottery. The good thing is that I was allowed to take photos. I fell in love with these 16th-17th century jeweled bel
