I spotted this featured ad in today's Al Qabas newspaper where a mink and a fox fur coats were put up for sale for KD 400 and KD 500.  Has the recession taken its toll on  fashionistas in Kuwait? Or is the owner playing it smart by making extra cash by selling used/unwanted items to invest the money in other desired items? Interesting...

Every season I find at Zara a pair of shoes that I really like and I'm always thiiiiis close to buying them,  then  I come back to my senses when I get flash backs of dreadful blisters or after close inspection of the shoes, I discover some defaults like for example the peep toe wedge/modern spectator featured here. I liked how it looked, Little House on the Prairie meets futurama, but what's with the bump on the wedge's heel if you look closely at the first photo.  No thank you, I'll pass.

BodyAmr's first on-schedule salon show was held at the Freemasons Lodge on the 19th Feb 2010 during London Fashion Week. I think this was the best BodyAmr collection I've ever seen so far. I'm completely intrigued by the sheer leggings decorated with swirl of what it looks like golden velvet ribbon. BodyAmr's show was called " Vanguard ", which means the forward element of an advancing military tactical formation.   

  Yup, the famous  studded pumps designed by Louise Goldin for Topshop are now available at TopShop in the Avenues. The killer heels are priced at KD 80. I tried them on, the fit was great and I loved the fierce  looking studs, HOWEVER, I wasn't too keen on the crystals, they looked kind of cheap on the beige and the rose pairs up close. On the black pair, the crystals looked acceptable. But if you're not as picky as I am, go for them, they look hot from a distance.   

Bally boutique has opened in Kuwait's 360 Mall and it offers a variety of men and women's leather goods. The shoe collection did not appeal to me as much. They looked good, but definitely not my style. My mom however was excited because, from her experience, Bally is one of the few brands which design comfortable shoes with impeccable quality.

The show, which took place at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, was attended by over 1000 guests including Kate Hudson, Kristen Stewart, Mary Kate Olsen, Claire Danes, Twiggy, and Leigh Lezark. Outerwear and accessories from the Autumn Winter 2010 womenswear collection, selected by Christopher Bailey, are now available exclusively at either Burberry.com or live.burberry.com until 26 February, bringing the collection directly to consumers globally in just over a month.

It was interesting watching Laudamia Pucci, daughter and heir of fashion designer Emilio Pucci , being interviwed by Al Watan TV last night.  She was visting Kuwait to get to know more about Kuwaiti Pucci-fanatics.  She was at the Pucci Boutique in Thurraya complex introducing the brand's new summer 2010 collection. While watching the interview, I realized that i can only wear pucci's unforgiving jersey printed dresses when vacationing in an exotic destination because they're comfortable, easy to pack, look amazing with sun-kissed skin, and simply make a great vacation style solution. Also, lately I've been loving their eveing cocktail sequined dresses, more forgiving than the jersey ones that's for sure!

Burberry will be broadcasting its Autumn/Winter 2010 Burberry Prorsum womenswear show on 23 February live in 3D from London Fashion Week directly to Dubai. The Burberry show will be broadcast at The Address in a screening room custom designed by Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey followed by a party. Guests at the private event will also view pre-show entertainment in 3D from behind the scenes, backstage and the red carpet in London hosted by British radio presenter Greg James. As well as Dubai the show will be broadcast live from London to four other simultaneous events in New York, Paris, Tokyo and Los Angeles. Burberry is the first brand to broadcast live simultaneous events in 3D worldwide.
