A Pale Blossoming

Beirut based brand Emily Cremona , which I have previously featured here, were kind enough to share with me their second collection for Starch Boutique. Their new S/S 2011 collection is titled A pale blossoming , took inspiriation from the nature with colors ranging from greige to pale grey purple and palish gold. You can see the designers focused on asymmetric cuts, crunched up details, and played with tuelle and volume to give a fresh take on their designs.  Ideal for the party and prom season ahead. It's funny to see retailers in Kuwait cash in on royal wedding fever! I Spotted this sign at Reiss's boutique in the Avenues. You get 30% off on selected lines.  Savings on new Summer purchases?? Yes please!

Colorful Cacharel

Cacharel's spring 2011 runway pieces were everything that I hoped for: colorful yet chic, casual yet dressy. most pieces were covered in blurred florals and paint blotches., which makes them easy to pair with verious colors of the spectrum. I loved the knotted tops. You can dress them up with skirts or down with flared jeans. Price tag of the knotted top? Around KD 183. Yes pricey, but that's expected from whatever comes down the runway. For any questions, please contact Cacharel Arraya (+965) 2299-7727 or Cacharel Al Thuraya (+965) 2571-1071.

Let Me See Your Stripes

High end and high street stores have been officially invaded by stripes. First Zara , and now Principles, Mango, and Marni are showing their true stripes. First stop we have  Principles+ Ben de Lisi collab which is currently displayed at Debenhams . Unfortunately, not all the pieces of the collaboration were a hit, in my humble opinion, maybe because it is catered to women of certain age. HOWEVER, I did like this midi straight and stretchy a la Prada skirt. Now THIS multi-striped cotton sweater from Marni is the highlight of this post. Everything about it is pure perfection, the bright color combo, the use of stripes, the A-shape silhouette. Price tag? a hefty KD 238. Marni boutique is located in 360 Mall. Marni tri-color cardigan KD 188. Even though it has like 4-5 stripes, it still falls under the same category! Mango takes stripes to a whole blingged level! Black and sequined green stripes cotton top.

Under the Sea

A few days ago I had a heart-to-heart talk with my wealth manager(I WISH!) account OFFICER, on the need of creating a savings plan and how the future doesn't look too promising... etc. Even though I have really bad spending habits, I must say that I have drastically improved ( I DID! ) but still could do much better.  So I agreed wholeheartedly to set aside a chunk of money on a monthly basis. The bank officer was happy. I was happy. My family were happy. And all was good, until Kunooz Exhibition debuted.  Great! What a timing! So I go with my friend and we both agreed we'll window shop only . BAD IDEA! Now these pictures are haunting me! Especially the irresistible pearl necklace with the ruby red octopus and matching ring from Octium !!  (hint hint to my family). "You aren’t…terribly attached to that octiumopus , are you?” my friend asked. We look at each other, then back to the pearl set and give a big siiiiigh.  Other items that I liked at Octium's booth were t

Kenzo Celebrates its Birthday with 40 Unique Limited Edition Bags in Kuwait

I had the pleasure to see Kenzo's limited edition collection of Pagodon bags,  which are currently on display at the Avenues Phase II. Designed by Antonio Marras for the brand's 40th anniversary, the collection has been created exclusively for the Middle East. And each bag is a unique hand crafted masterpiece, the only one in the world. The basket-shaped bag retails for KD 500+.   When I first received the invite for the exhibition, I didn't expect the bags to look THAT good, craftsmanship wise.  So I was quite impressed when I examined them closely, they were true masterpieces.  I'm not going to sugar coat the collection, I didn't like ALL of the 40 bags that were on display, but I so appreciate all the work that has been put into each Pagodon bag.  However, I did like the ones featured here.  And if I'm the type who collects rare bags, I would buy the marine inspired pagodon bag (1st photo) with a blink of an eye.  Go to the exhibition, it's worth che

Just Like?

This post could fall under the "Just Like..." category.  I have spotted these tie-dye silk pants and the slim fitted black and  white tribal patterned stretch-long sleeves top with its matching silk pants at BCBG boutique in Arraya Complex and images of Proenza Schouler's runway show immediately sprung to my mind. Both collections exude surfer chic style. loved the pieces but don't go all matchy-matchy or that would be surfer chic overkill!  Also spotted this medium sized black leather clutch covered in golden beads. I think it was around KD 80

Exclusive: Sneak Preview of From Coco with Love

I had the pleasure to meet the girls behind From Coco with Love , who started a business in selling vintage and rare Chanel jewelry. The girls were beyond lovely, elegantly accessorized in Chanel, bien sur! They have established their business a little over a year ago and I have found it hard to believe that it hasn’t been around longer. Because the way they described the pieces so passionately and in detail, you would have easily thought that they’ve been in the business for at least 5 years.  They have scouted Europe’s brokers, vintage resellers, and vintage shops and have individually examined and handpicked the pieces of their vintage collection, each works perfectly well in today’s modern world. I have taken photos of some of my favorite pieces; I know they’re a lot!  But the pieces were so exquisite that I couldn’t settle for two or three photos!!! So enjoy... Their exhibition will take place tomorrow only Wednesday April 27, 2011 at  La Blanche Gallery  in Mishref , block 4, s
