I see Polka Dots Popping

Yup, the polka dots have popped up everywhere on high street stores and now Polka Dots can pop into your wardrobe too without breaking your bank. I spotted, no pun intended, this red polka dots jacket at Zara for the price of KD 39.500 which you can pair with plain separates. Or you can go a little bit fashion forward and pair it with a dress that has even bigger polka dots and polka dots covered heels. The navy polka dots dress is priced at KD 32.500.

Dear Confashion: More from the Modern Mosque

Remember the modern which I have featured previously here ? Well, the creative brains behind this amazing work, bab.nimnim Design Studio , have emailed me a selection of the current Mosque photos as it stands today. About the concept of the design, bab.nimnim represnetatives stated that "The 2,800 sq.m Mohammed Jassim Al-Saddah Grand Mosque, located in Dahiat Abdullah Al-Salem, showcases how a modern approach to designing an Islamic structure in Kuwait. The main concept behind the building revolves around the oneness of Allah through the repetitive use of the circle. A sense of continuity was applied with the use of one pattern and one font type. The particular pattern used derives from six interlocking circles around a hexagon, which originates from a Damascan mashrabiya screen. The pattern was proliferated on several surfaces such as the woodwork, metal work, internal walls, mashrabiyas, minaret and dome. The portrayal of the 99 names of Allah and Quranic verses on the wall

Video: Twenty/Ten by AKF 2011

Remember this  cool looking muhajababe who goes by the name AKF ? Well the talented AKF has just released her new S/S 2011 collection for her line Twenty/Ten by AKF , and it's available now at 52 Degrees , located in Al Tilal Complex-Shuwaikh, whereas the Pre-Fall collection will be available mid-August. "The line is very close to my heart, and I work tirelessly on each piece myself: studding, shredding, and at times even sewing. Hand shredding takes up to 4 hours, so when you wear a piece you can be sure that it is a labor of love! My aesthetic has always been something a bit more edgy than the usual in Kuwait, and I know Kuwaiti fashionistas are starving for more studs and shredding to spice up their wardrobe." expressed AKF . I loved the shredding detail on the cotton shirts, so very street style chic. You can view more of  Twenty/Ten by AKF   by clicking here .

Just Like The Row...

Sigh.. The LBLD (aka the little black leather dress). I saw it and I fell in love with it. Do I have an occasion to wear it for? Nope. Is our weather cold enough to justify the "cost per wear" formula? Nope. And never mind the fact that I already have two leather dresses and one leather skirt which I haven't worn yet . But it would look sooo gooood with my Isabel Marant gava pumps. I spotted this black MANGO shift dress and fell in love with it because it looks a lot like The Row LBLD , which I saw on Boutique 1's site , minus the savings damage of course.  I have to warn you though, this leather piece from MANGO doesn't come with a high street price tag. The dress is priced at KD 95. And from black leather dress to a black leather bag, I spotted this very Céline-ish Zara bag. Price tag? KD 32.500.

Forever Charming

How cute are these pendants with lacquered girly charms. No I wouldn't wear the one featured in  the first photos as I think they're more appropriate for girls in their teens or even little girls dressed in colorful little caftans. Cute! I did get the golden ballerina girl and wishbone necklaces for myself (shown below). I think they'd look cool paired with layers of chain necklaces. Getting a heap of these necklaces at Forever 21 won't cost you much, they're priced at KD 1.500 each!

Noon by Noor Celebrates their Brand Hollywood Style

Hollywood Celebrities came out to Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles a few days ago to celebrate the launch of Bahrain-based brand  Noon By Noor . The star studded event was attended by Kim Kardashian and Lo Bosworth, both of which wore pieces from the collection.  I am so happy for the talented and skilled girls behind  Noon By Noor   because they followed their dream and managed to launch their own clothing line not only regionally but also across the Atlantic! I wish them a safe trip back home and the best of luck. Here are some photos of the event... Reality TV star Brittny Gastineau and actress AnnaLynne McCord of Beverly Hills 90210 Far left Joyce Bonelli (Kim's personal make-up artist) is wearing headpiece and gloves by  Noon By Noor On left: Kim Kardashian and Brittny Gastineau with Command PR mavens, Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck. Spring.. Fall.. and Beyond

As much as I'm thrilled to see new pre-fall collections hitting K-town here and there, I can't help but fall for designer deals from last season's collection. Especially when they're the classic/basic type that gets me through my daily grind and can be worn for seasons to come. I've found a few budget-friendly pieces at Al Othman boutique in Salmiya which I'd like to share with you starting with this cool Elizabeth & James light blazer. Kahramana Goes Arabesque

KAHRAMANA and caftans go together like apple pie and ice cream or like a Kardashian and her loubs, or Coco and her pearls. OK, you get my drift! KAHRAMANA by Samar Said has just introduced her new collection for Ramadan. The geometric details and the arabesque inspired shapes makes them a caftan's perfect match. For further details, please click here.  Does the name ring a bell? I have featured KAHRAMANA previously on Confashions here . The brand is currently stocked at Aura-b.com .

The Final Countdown

Yup! The NET-A-PORTER sale  ends tomorrow! Did you snap up anything?

It runs in the Family

The lovely dynamic duo Bahraini sisters Rasha and Rawan Al Mannai, one of the  reasons why I love Bahrain so much, were featured in a recent issue of Grazia Bahrain  and they looked dashing as always . The feature was showcasing how great style runs in the blood. Loving Rawan's digitally printed caftan designed by Dubai-based designer the multi-talented Shrekahnth , which is also stocked at their boutique  Crème Boutique .
