Oh wow! It feels great to post again on the blog! I'm not going to give excuase or dwell on my lack of posting on the blog. So let's get starigh to business. First thing's first. I'm sure by now you have heard about Nada Debs' s howcase at AlOthman Pop Up . This is the second event I started working on and I'm so excited about it!  AlOthman's Pop Up will be hosting a special showcase of furniture and home accessories by Lebanese brand Nada Debs . The opening reception will be held in the presence of the designer on the evening of Sunday 25th September, and will continue until Thursday 29th September. Nada Debs ' designs deserve a lot of respect and appreciation. She has successfully managed to embody our Arabic culture using contemporary designs. Very very few home accessories designer managed to present us with such uniqueness and creativity, and the proof of Nada Debs's success is the hundreds of copied designs by other "designers...

One of my ultimate favorite places to shop for furniture and home accessories (and mostly window shop), is Madame Mantis . I have previously posted about it here and here . We should move to our new home soon and I'm going to have to furnish an entire place which can be stressful. Madame Mantis is a little gem in the neighborhood. They have an eclectic mix of decor and furniture. I love their distinctive twist of things such as random lips-shaped or Kelly Wearstler’s super luxe head sculptures. I was especially in love with their lanterns and tables. They had a flash sale of 40% during the last week of Ramadan. I went there to get a quick look of what might work for my home and came out empty handed because i wanted literally EVERYTHING! And I'm clueless when it comes to decorating. I don't think I have this talent of properly decorating spaces. Anyhow, If you're in the market for a new couch, home accessories, or event a side table, this is the place to go! ...

So I haven't been writing much reviews on here, but once I heard about multi-talented Bahrain-based interiors and space designer Ammar Basheir's latest retail adventure, I just had to post about it (and kick start my blogging days maybe?). The store really should earn a five star review, walking through this beyond beautiful gallery, one feels as if he/she is visiting the home of a very chic family, with a flair for retro designs. Allow me to introduce you to House of Teal , Bahrain's most contemporary furniture and lifestyle boutique demonstrating innovation and originality in all its products and visual merchandising.  The ultra glam boutique offers a diverse range of home inspirations that include sofas, dining ensembles, living room, bedroom furniture and home accessories. A few months back I was invited to Inaash's exhibition which was held at Beit Al Sadu . Inaash is an association for preservation of Palestinian culture through embroidery. The objective of the exhibition is to raise funds to preserve this precious handcraft and to provide income to women living in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. What I loved about the exhibition is the way they introduced this very traditional embroidery using modern home and fashion accessories. They have collaborated with quite few renowned talents like Nada Debs , who helped design oversized pillow cases, and Naffisa who's known for her modern caftans and everyday casual chic pieces. Mind you, the items on display were quite pricy, but they're for a good cause. I ended up buying pillow cases, one vest and one jacket. I would really like to see more collaborated collection by these talents and more but at different price points, as I'm sure this would help to generate more money and attra...

For the 2nd year in a row (or maybe 3rd), I had the pleasure of attending Kuwait International Exhibition on Islamic Arts and its Application on Metal Crafts. The exhibition was held The Grand Mosque's exhibition area in Kuwait City. I wanted to get some ideas and inspiration for decorating my home. The event assembled 16 artisans, from various islamic countries like Algeria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Turkey, and more. I found myself more intrigued into exploring the  art of calligraphy than metal crafts. If I had the time I would have loved to join the arabic calligraphy workshops that were held during the event. Here's a quick look at what caught my attention.

Back in January, I had the pleasure of visiting Dar Al Funoon to get a closer look at Iraqi Artis  Sabah Arbilli's  latest paintings and sculptures in a solo exhibition titled: Decisions .  I became a fan of his work when I first saw his pieces displayed during the Islamic Art Exhibition in Kuwait two years ago. Sabah has this distinctive style of writing and refreshing form of calligraphy, he has this amazing skill to spontaneously create art pieces in front of people, involving the public to become a part of an artistic experience. Born in Iraq, the full time artist Sabah Arbilli studied Masters in Visual Arts, at the University of Wales. Currently he is based in the UK and Qatar.
