Sorbet Shoes

Oh the thrill of spotting a runway piece while browsing the designer boutique in Kuwait, after all they are a rare breed. The other day, I was checking the selection at Fendi's boutique in the avenues and spotted these sorbet-colored PVC heeled sandals, the ombre gradient shades  reds, oranges, and pinks are just so mesmerizing and perfect for our Summer! Those are the kind of statement shoe that will work well with any plain dress or a mix and unmatched printed outfits. They'd look equally amazing with a pair of cropped/boyfriend jeans too. I wish they had the flats version of these heels, especially that I noticed that recently I don't wear much heels.

Flavor of the Day: Isa Tapia Fluffy Sandals

I'm loving fashion's recent furry feet frenzy, from Celine fur soled Birkenstocks, to Fendi's mink decorated heels. They all looked cute enough to almost cuddle. And here's one pair to add to the list,  Isa Tapia pink fluffy flat sandals. The only issue here, I can't seem to find this style from the brand's resort 2014 collection anywhere. Bummer!

Outfit of the Day

I do realize that today's OOTD's location is not the most appealing, but sometime's you've got to work with what you have. Anyways, so we've all seen the hype over Victoria by Victoria Beckham's sky-blue drop-waist voluminous dress, she was seen wearing the dress during the SS2014's fashion week. I was personally surprised to see such silhouette as part of her collection, especially that she is known for her skin-tight/zero-fat dresses. I never imagined that I could possibly fit into any of her dresses, until I saw this! This is perfection! The ultimate easy-breezy summer dress! This is THE Kuwaiti dress! I'm pretty much sure that it will be copied in a zillion way by local businesses, especially that Ramadan is just around the corner.  I paired my  Victoria by Victoria Beckham  dress, which I got from AlOthman Boutique , with my brand new Balenciaga straw clutch , my worn-out not-so-new Fendi perforated sandals, and my new Mouzannar necklac

Event: Shanghai Tang Spring/Summer 2014 Trunk Show

It's amazing the amount of events being hosted this month by various retailers and exhibitors in Kuwait, and the fact that the  Arab Summit  was held a few days ago in our town did not help at all with the events-hopping. Most main roads were either completely jammed or closed for security reasons, and as a result I missed quite a few of the events which I was planning to go to (sorry to all of those who invited me to their events and I was unable to show up).  Anyhow, I managed to pass by  Shanghai Tang's  Spring/Summer 2014's trunk show at the Avenues Mall last Tuesday. The Chinese fashion lifestyle brand showcases various products ranging from ready-to-wear, bespoke tailoring, fashion accessories, to home and decoration. They main focus of the event was to highlight its Spring/Summer women and men's collection, they had a mini runway show, I posted a few photos on  my instagram . They also had a Chinese calligrapher who instantly illustrates your name in ch

Event: Preview of H&M's Conscious Exclusive Line

Yesterday I was invited to the exclusive preview of H&M's Conscious Exclusive collection. The clothes and accessories were very bohemian chic with a touch of traditional flamenco inspired glamor. All pieces were made from high quality materials, think organic leather and cottons, and mulberry tree-cultivated silk, with a palette of nudes, creams and navys. I personally think that the trophy piece was the scrupulously detailed open-toed block heels. A sure hot-seller! H&M's Conscious Exclusive  collection will be out on April 10th, so make sure to mark your calendars if you're eyeing any piece of this exclusive line.  The lovely H&M team dressed in H&M's conscious evening gowns as seen on Actresses Emmy Rossum and Penelope Cruz.

Event: Kuwait Confidential Exhibition at Dar Al Funoon

Yesterday I had the pleasure of passing by Kuwait Confidential exhibition at Dar Al Funoon, where Beirut-based brands such as the quirky cool handbag and accessories brand Sarah’s Bag , the award-winning jewelry designer Alia Mouzannar , and the glamorous designs of  Dori Mouzannar of the leading multi-generational House of Aziz & Walid Mouzannar, are hosting a special exhibition in Kuwait City. Sarah’s Bag  is showcasing her unique pieces from her exquisitely handcrafted Spring/Summer 2014 Pop Art collection Brad Darling!, which has been making waves in some of the world’s most exclusive concept stores such as Collette Paris and Matches London and fashion editorials across the globe. She also has her brand new A/W2014 collection on display and for sale too, so we're technically the first to shop the collection.  Dori and Alia Mouzannar are showcasing their unique and limited edition pieces from their latest work that have been featured in the likes of Elle F

Event: Avenue32XTheOverdressed

Last Saturday I missed going to an exclusive shopping event hosted by Dana Al Khalifa , of TheOverdressed.com , and online retailer Avenue32.com  in Bahrain's Green Bar’s headquarters. Roberta Benteler, founder of  Avenue32.com ,  explained to shoppers the novel concept of  Avenue32.com  which came to her when she started working with a young designer to gain experience in fashion. The concept for Avenue 32 is that it's a platform where designers can showcase their product in their own ‘shop in a shop’, accompanied by editorial. Dana was dressed in Tanya Taylor while Roberta was dressed in Giles Deacon . The black brass rails were lined with the designs of JJS Lee , Charlie Brear , and Regina Pyo to name a few. The shoe ladder display was scattered with the sleek lines of Paul Andrew and the stunning designs of Alexander Lewis for Manolo Blahnik . The accessory section was draped in Degano and Elsa Marotta scarves, Venessa Arizaga necklaces and Lena Erziak

Event Hannayome at Al Hamra Tower

Earlier tonight I passed by Hannayome's annual exhibition at Al Hamra Tower. If you're clueless about Hannayome , then here's a quick brief  basically it's your local wedding and special events guide for all bridal and wedding related businesses. Think wedding planners, wedding cakes, spas, jewelry  local designers, hair and make-up salons, chocolatiers, caterers... etc. This year the team behind  Hannayome expanded their display space so that not only it includes the basmenet of Al Hamra tower, but also on the ground floor they had a dedicated area where they displayed wedding cakes,  and on the same floor, there was the Exhibition Hall, where  Hannayome  held a Jewelry Wonderland, and it was conceptualized by  Hannayome's  team and designed plus executed by Fresh Couture. You'll see more photos as you scroll.  I enjoyed seeing a lot of the businesses participating in this event, I strongly recommend you check out Showg Al Mudhaf's booth Ghai
