Just Like Marni/Prada?

Doesn't this super adorable charm necklace look like something you would actually see at Marni , Prada , or even Marc Jacobs ? I spotted it at Bimba & Lola the other day, the place to go to if you're looking for quirky cool accessories that won't break the bank, and I immediately associated it with the above mentioned brands. Nice!

A Good Impression

One of my super sweet friends was in Doha-Qatar recently and shared with me these photos of her visit to Impression boutique , a multi-brand boutique which offers a variety of funky and hip products ranging from chic accessories to fashion-fierce shoes and clothes by well-known brands and local designers including: Rachel Zoe , Shourouk , Tom Binns , Rachel Gilbert , Yazbukey , CC sky , Sass & Bide , UAE killer heels brand DARMAKI , and more. I have previously featured the boutique on my blog here . Highly recommended if you're planning a quick visit to Doha over the weekend.

Hello Hologram!

After seeing theses hologram-effect faux leather ballerina flats at Steve Madden selling for KD 3 ONLY (nope I didn't miss a digit here!), i truly believe that anyone can look on-trend regardless of how small their budget is. Amazing, no?!

Video: Olivia Palermo wears ODLR for THE OUTNET

How adorable Olivia Palermo looks in this video modeling the exclusive collection of modern classics of fresh florals, ikat prints, and color pop separates, designed by Oscar de la Renta exclusively for TheOutnet.com .

COS's Clutch

I spotted this box-like clutch at COS the other day. What attracted me to it is how it was designed to have one half of the clutch completely covered with shiny metal box and the other half with light tan leather. Very minimal in design yet speaks volumes, it could easily pass for a Margiela piece. I'll give it two thumbs up.

Flamingo by Trésors Sauvages

I was recently invited to the private launch of our Flamingo Collection by Trésors Sauvages , which was held at the Bulgari Hotel in London a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I was unable to travel to London for the event due to prior commitments, However, I got the opportunity to view the collection online through their recently-launched website. I was very impressed by their designs, which were inspired by flamingos. The color combination and the bold graphic prints used were beautifully integrated to the architectural collection. Trésors Sauvages was founded in 2012 as a partnership between artist Amalie Beljafla , and creative director Soraya Al Ali . With a middle eastern background, the partners developed a foundation to launch their london-based fashion brand, manifesting a unique concept which presents a natural exoticism through their creations. You can find out more about Trésors Sauvages by clicking here .

I Heart Kuwait

Today marks Kuwait's 52nd National Day. On this very dear occasion I'd like to share with you this not-so-old song, when was it released? 2003? The funny thing is that this song always always always brings tears to my eyes, even if I listen to it 5 times in a row! The lyrics are so meaningful and it is such a beautiful piece of music, and whoever wrote the lyrics and produced the song is genius. I'll try to translate the lyrics and update this post accordingly.

Dolce & Gabbana's Finale

Every Milan Fashion Week, the moment I look forward to the most is the dramatic finale of Dolce & Gabbana , and this season it can be summed up in one word, incredible! What did you think of the red lace dresses enriched with embroideries and stones? Simply gorgeous. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were inspired by the mosaic of Monreale for this collection. The accessories were pieces of art, but then again, I'm not quite sure if I'd invest in such pieces for my wardrobe selection. To me, I think they're best viewed on the runway.

The Coolest Nikes Out There

The other day I have received an e-mail from New York based illustrator, fashion editor, and stylist  Ekaterina Kulikova , who would like to introduce her services to professionals in our region. Born in Russia 1985, Kulikova moved to Finland at 19 to study Fashion Design and Fine Art at University of Art and Design in Helsinki. During this period she began traveling widely to Sweden, Norway, Russia, Prague and Dubai. Kulikova has also done several acclaimed art exhibitions around the globe. She does most of her illustrations by hand, with pen and ink on paper, and uses her digital skills to achieve a particular visual effect or when a technical illustration is needed or wanted by a client. One particular project that attracted my attention, was the illustration and work Kulikova has done on a selection of Nike shoes. I'm not sure if these were actually produced or not as I couldn't find further information on them, but I loved their designs especially the on

Hey Kitty Kitty

Don't you just love Charlotte Olympia   covet-worthy kitty flats? I remember I bought mine back in October 2011, previous post here , and I'm still not over them. These flats to me offer the best of two worlds, they're extremely comfortable and their design is so quirky cool. Definitly much cooler than Marc Jacobs's mouse. So if you're lusting over these new season  Charlotte Olympia  kitty flats, you can find them at Boutique 4 in Shuwaikh (Alussaimi building next to Al Telal Complex).

Vuitton's Vibe

So  Louis Vuitton's  Resort 2013 collection has hit the shop floor in Salhiya Complex, and it's so refreshing to see that the Louis Vuitton lady is very well-dressed for Resort, no rubbery flip flops and no overly revealing clothes. I actually liked the shoes the most. They had seventies vibe to them and I could just imagine pairing them with slim tailored cropped pants or maxi dresses. So I left it at that. I already have a long wish-list which I need to work on too. seventies vibe over slim tailored shorts,

A Ball Gown Girl or a Cocktail Dress Girl?

I instgrammed this photo of a colored lace ball gown by Valentino a few hours ago, and one follower raised an interesting point, she was like "It's gorgeous but not anyone can pull it off." There's a lot of truth in her statement. Do I love ball gowns? hmm.. it depends on the design. Would I wear one? Well, highly unlikely, maybe if I was  bride or sister of the bride? A tall one too. The one featured here by Valentino is pretty, but I wouldn't be able to pull it off, unless I wear a pair of super platform heels with it, and that would never happen. What about you? Which shape would you go for if you ever get invited to a wedding?

Candy Colored Valentino

It's such a joy spotting colorful new season accessories around high-end boutiques in K-town, especially that the S/S 2013 runways were mostly dominated by black, white, and other neutral colors. While shopping around Salhiya Complex, I found these delectable hues of buttercup yellow, pistachio green, and rose pink with either sensual lace details or pyramid-shaped studs covering the bags and shoes of Valentino . I can just imagine paring them with subtly flared printed or plain skirt, and a girly top. Speaking of Valentino , I just found out through a friend that the people who own the brand in Salhiya Complex are completely different from the owners in Avenues Phase III (Prestige Mall). I wonder who will have better selection of merchandise, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Ima Read

In case you've been living under a rock lateley, you might be interested to know that Boutique 4 received a new selection of Olympia le Tan handcrafted cotton-canvas clutches. The extremely hard-to-find book clutches always sell out with a blink of an eye online, so it was refreshing to see them right there in front of me to love and to hold. I like the fact that each style has a stitched identity number at the back, makes them even extra special, no?

Last Louboutin Standing

Although I haven't been a huge Louboutin fan the past couple of seasons, I must admit that I always make it a point, whenever I'm browsing Salhiya Complex, to pass by Christian Louboutin boutique just to check out what's new out of curiosity. Recently I visited the boutique to view their latest new season collection heels. Surprisingly I liked two pairs, but not enough to make me buy them, or at least not for now. The shoes stood out with their bold colors, neon and tie-dye details, and unexpected textures. The ones that I didn't like, had an element or two which made them look borderline tacky, for example, I loved the tie-dye heels with ruffled detail, but why did they come with a brick-like platform??! The ones that I liked the most were the multi-colored pigalle with brushstroke details, shown in the photo above, they'd accent a little black dress or a pair of darkwash cropped jean. Painful? extremely. Maybe I should've tried the half size bigger. So

Anna-Karin Karlsson's Sunglasses in K-town

Being obsessed with unique sunglasses , I got all excited when I found out that International Optics in Salmiya Plaza received a new selection of Swedish eyewear designer Anna-Karin Karlsson's quirky cool sunglasses. So I went there to check out the collection and try out these red roses framed sunnies, I loved them! They were perfect in size and just in time for the warm weather. A must-visit if you're looking for a new pair of sunnies.

S*uce Gifts Shop

My super sweet (and stylish) friend was in Dubai a couple of weeks ago and sent me these photos of  S*uce boutique's , a UAE-based multi-brand fashion and lifestyle boutique, latest gift store entirely dedicated to quirky cool and simply beautiful gifts and homeware items. Located at Al Wasl Square in Dubai, S*uce Gifts offers a well-edited selection of regional and international pieces, customised collections and collaborations. They also had theit own vending machine but it wasn't working yet, not sure if it works now already. But isn't that cool? I thought these things only existed in Japan. From the photos below I have also noticed they're stocking Kuwait-based home accessories and furniture brand Pieces by Farah . Next time I go to Dubai, this place will be on top of my "must-visit" list.

Outfit of the Day

Here's another lazy Outfit of the Day post, I was planning to take better shots of my outfit, which I wore to our family gathering a few weeks back. But I got very lazy and decided to settle for a mobile photo and a close-up of one aspect of my outfit which is a printed hooded vest by Josh Goot . I hope this photo will qualify for an OOTD post, since the weather is getting warmer and I don't see myself wearing the vest again at least until next winter. I remember seeing a similar vest worn by my style icon Taylor Tomasi Hill during Paris Fashion Week last year and I instantly fell i love with it. A few months later, while browsing ShopBop.com , I saw the vest, not the identical one but by the same brand and had similar patterns, so I immediately bought it. I was worried at first that I won't get to wear and tear it much, but to my surprise I did, I paired it with leather pencil skirt and a fitted black top once. And on a different occasion I wore it with my leat

Rupert's Prints

Parrots prints never looked sooo good! Rupert Sanderson heels spotted at Harvey Nichols Kuwait .
