Burberry featured in Sex and the City: The Movie‏

I'm sure you all have heard and seen the buzz around Sex and the City: The Movie and I'm positive 80% of the female Kuwaiti population are dying to get a glimpse of all the clothes and shoes featured in the movie. Considering my affinity for the series, I guarantee you that I'll be watching the movie with my pen and notepad, jotting down any fabulous style tips from the fifth member of the SATC cast Ms. Patricia Field. But until i get the chance to watch the movie, how about we feature some of their clothes? Cast members in Sex and the City - The Movie appeared in the film wearing Burberry outerwear, accessories and childrenswear. Chic Carrie wears a Burberry Prorsum black shaved chevron coat, Jennifer Hudson, in her role as Carrie’s assistant, wears the forever timeless and investment piece: a Burberry classic black women’s trench coat. And during a key wedding scene, Miranda wears a pair of silver platform open toe sandals. I'm not done here, Charlotte carries a wh

If you're a looking for a little bit of hippy chic and comfy dresses for your family gatherings, chalets, and Ramadan, then look no further than these absolute stunners from Aisha Al-Fadel Designs . Aisha Al-Fadel Designs has its own group on facebook . I picked out some of my favourite dresses/dara'at from her new summer and Ramadan collection which is out now. I must admit that I also liked how the photos were taken, very beautiful natural settings. For requests, orders, and inquires, send a private message to the group Owner on facebook .

Burberry Jewellery Line in Kuwait‏

Gwyneth Paltrow has never looked THAT stunning ever since her latest Hollywood comeback. I'm obsessing over her different looks, her hair style (I want!!), her choice or clothes, and her killer heels (Givenchy!! I waaaant!!). So I was infatuated with her choice of rock chic jewellery recently. Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted wearing bracelets from the Burberry Spring/Summer 2008 jewellery collection at a photocall for her new film "Two Lovers" at the Cannes Film Festival in France. The good news is that the Burberry jewellery line is available at the Burberry store in Kuwait. Click on the images to enlarge. Previewed during the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2008 women’s catwalk show, the metallic and Perspex jewellery pieces are inspired by the “luxury warrior” theme. Collection includes necklaces, bracelets, cuffs, bangles and rings. To get the catwalk-ish Gwyneth look right, layer the bracelets heavily and keep your attire simple and dark. Prices range from KD 60 up to K

My Fendi Findings

During my last visit to Fendi's Boutique at Salhiya Complex, I picked out some of my favourite items from Fendi's S/S fashion show. To my surprise, I actually found the spring/summer signature colored stones belt featured in most looks of the fashion show ( Fendi Kuwait, I'm impressed! ). Perfect to complete your bohemian chic Fendi look by wearing it over plain dresses and tops. Price tag? KD 929 . If you want to make a statement with your outfit, make those beautiful (AND comfortable) platforms your choice for formal summer nights outings. I don't usually go for the "copy-the-catwalk" look, but I think these metallic platforms have to be worn with Fendi attire to look as good as they do on the runway. A true investment piece would be purchasing this "very-Carrie-Bradshaw-ish" black and white halterneck evening gown. The gown looks 1000 times better in real life than it does on this photo. I loved the circle details on the neckline, and it goes al

Make Your Own Fendi Baguette

Always wanted to have your very own Fendi Baguette but sadly can't afford a customized one? Until you get the right connections with the Fendi sisters (and have enough cash to splurge), do the next best thing, buy yourself this limited-edition Fendi Artist Baguette . This Fendi Baguette comes in a funky gift box decorated with colorful scribbles and your own set of un-washable color markers. The bag is completely blank made out of canvas, which allows you to draw your own scribbles or paint your very own original design. If you're not the art-sy type? Try contacting one of our famous local artists like Ghada Al-Kandari or Dana Al-Hilal or anyone else you know to do the work for you ( IF they agree that is! ). Fashionable and FUN! But hurry, the Fendi Boutique in Kuwait only got 2 of these and one is already sold. Price tag? KD 407 ( not bad for a limited edition bag, ha?! ). Fendi boutique is located at Salhiya Complex, Kuwait City. For inquiries, please call (+965) 249-3

Calling all LV's Limited Edition Bags Collectors

Nothing I love tackling more than finding limited edition items in Kuwait. Let's all welcome the Louis Vuitton Aquarelle Bag released earlier last week at LV's boutiques located at Salhiya Complex. This limited edition bag is probably the only bag from Richard Prince collaboration with Marc Jacobs which I actually like... A LOT. The modified version of the Speedy has a wooden frame with washed out and smudged watercolor monogram. The handles are made of mulit-colored lizard skin, which makes it easy to wear with almost everything. I love the way it opens up, you can see everything in your bag with one glance, which also makes it easy to find your car keys. It only comes in this size and color. And girlfriend, expect to pay a hefty KD 1,050 for this piece of art. Yup. If that's waaay over your budget, then you can get the smaller version of the bag (shown below) but in blackish-brown. I think it cost something around KD 900 or KD 800, not sure. Honestly? It doesn't loo

Event: Youssef Nabil Photos Exhibition

I Had to look twice to believe that the women shown on the photo above is Egyptian actress Laila Elwy. I have never seen her in my life looking as refined as she did in this photo ( refined but not mind-blowingly stylish and chic, BIG difference). The photo would have been perfect had there not been the cheap diamante tie-look-alike necklace. The "Madonna-ish" photo is the creative work of world renowned acclaimed Egyptian artist, Youssef Nabil . If you liked Laila's photo, then you ought to check out the photographs featured in Youssef Nabil 's website . I was truly amazed! His work is Suggestively beautiful with an old-fashioned twist. Better yet, go check out his solo exhibition currently running until May 22nd at Sultan Gallery . Sultan Gallery is located at South Sabhan, Block 8, Street 105, Building 168. For further information, please call (+965) 471-4325.

Rest in Peace Sheikh Saad

I spent most of the day yesterday and today recalling the history of of late Kuwaiti Father Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah with family members. He played a big role during the invasion and his relentless service of the Kuwaitis and our homeland will be forever remembered in goodwill. Goodbye Sheikh Saad. May your soul rest in peace...

Need a Hair Makeover?

Italian fashion show hair stylist Leda will be at Gloss Salon in Jabriya from Thursday to Saturday 8th-10th May 2008. For appointments, please call Raya on (+965) 5359051. Apparently, Dolce & Gabbanna Spring fashion show was her last gig.

Heard It Through The Grapevine...

Phase two of the Avenues will include boutiques of big designer names in the fashion business such as Kenzo and Chanel . Also, Al Ostoura alone will open 40 standalone shops including: See by Chloé and Marc by Marc Jacobs . The only thing that I'm sure will be dreading is the looooong walk from TopShop to any boutique located in the 2nd phase of the Avenues.

Closet Candy's fantastic Lookbook is here

Get a glimpse of what's in the " Closet " with Closet Candy's new and fabulous Spring/Summer 2008 Lookbook. It gives you the best looks of the season and highlights trends carried by the boutique such as safari, menswear, bright color (yellow), and bold prints. What I liked about the lookbook is that it's created from scratch. The first of its kind in Kuwait in terms of working on original photoshoots, the concept, creating the looks... etc. Closet Candy did not take the easy way of creating a lookbook. And I salute you guys for that. So which one is your favourite look? Mine are two, the high-waisted dark jeans topped with chiffon romantic blouse and studded bracelets (3rd Photo) and the boy-meets-girl look featured here (6th photo). The lookbook is sure to catch the eye of young fashionistas around K-town. From now until June 2008, Closet Candy will be having their new collections out every Monday. So make sure you're there early before size and styles get

A Nice Surprise from Net-A-Porter

Net-a-porter's team were kind and generous enough to send me a complimentary copy of their highly anticipated and addictive Spring/Summer 2008 Notes . What a nice surprise it was. I just wish they sent it a couple of months earlier when I needed some clues on what to buy. Now, I'm almost done with my summer seasonal shopping ( seasonal?! Who am I kidding!!! ). But it is a nice read and it's a keeper that's for sure. This is not your regular lookbook or a designer's catalogue. It has so many stylish features and tips that just makes you want to carry it in your bag wherever you go. It lists down the trends of the season, the " it " items to buy, travel tips, designers' favourite books, movies to watch, workbook and sticker pages to build your shopping list, and best of all, anything you featured in the Notes is available (or was) to buy. After skimming through the pages of Net-a-Porter's Spring/Summer 2008 Notes , I think now I'm convinced th
