Hitting the Beach in Sensi Style

With Summer in full swing and the swimming season upon us, I had to shop around for chic beach-ready accessoires to embrace the sun and the waves in style. One brand I always check out is Sensi Studio , a fun and colorful accessories brand hand-crafted by local artisans in Ecuador.  So I browsed the selection at Harvey Nichols Kuwait and fell in love with this straw hat with red paint-like doodles. You can never go wrong with a straw hat to protect your skin, especially that I stopped sun-tanning my face for a while now to protect it from unwanted early wrinkles. And where to keep your beach essentials? like mobile, lip balm, sun block, and co? In one of these adorable straw clutches by  Sensi Studio  too! I'd personally carry it on and off the beach!  What about you? Any new purchases to update your beach look?

Colorful Celine

This Summer season I'm loving the explosion of primary and secondary colours at Paris-based brand Celine . The vibrantly colored bags and the sporty designs of its shoes created pieces that popped with pop-art power. Not sure of the their longevity factor, but they look yummy enough to me to wear and tear this season without hesitation.

Blossoming in Prada

Take me to Hawaii! Hearts hearts hearts! This Prada shoulder/cross runway bag with prints of Hawaiian flowers is just PERFECTION! AND a rare treat in Kuwait's Prada as we don't always get the best of the selection here. I instantly fell in love with it, even though I mentioned previously I'm not a bag lady, but I just can imagine how to wear it. Paired with slim-cut white trousers, polka dots men's style button-down shirt, and a pair of summery loafers sans socks, this bold printed bag can hit all the right notes. And then I spotted this cotton lace covered Prada tee,  and I imagined pairing the printed bag with a denim skirt and wedge heels.

In My Closet: Celine Knotted Leather Slippers

Having perfect, close-up style feet for the most luxurious slippers of this season planet is not easy, and in my case impossible. I know that my toes do NOT have what it takes to model a pair of new shoes, but I'm hoping that you'd be too mesmerized by the beauty of these Celine knotted leather slippers. The leather looks fresh to death, and the best part is that they're beyond comfortable!  I've searched for these babies everywhere and they were sold out, remember my previous post here ? My sister was in London last month and found them in my size at Harrods ! How cool is that?! I was over the moon! They're officially my Summer shoes this year.

Yoga Jeans?!

Ever tried to keep count of how many times you’ve complained about lack of movement in tight jeans? No matter the price point, the pairs were made to be sturdy, not ultra-comfy. That's a fact of life, the price we all have to pay to be fashionable. Well, it was. I came to know about Second Denim's ultra comfortable Second Yoga jeans through ZINZIN boutique at Mercato Mall in Dubai. The jeans redefine the perceived limitations of wearing denim. Offering the same flexibility of yoga pants with the sturdiness of conventional denim, Second Yoga jeans are as comfortable as they sound. Apparently they come in regular, low and extra low cuts with flared, straight and skinny styles, and their comfy chic style also makes them a much better wardrobe choice for air travel than velour tracksuits.

More Fashion Illustrations All The Way From Portugal

Remember when I posted about artist and illustrator António, who lives in Oporto city in Portugal, and work as a freelance illustrator? Previous post here . The illustrator has just sent me part of his new SS2014 illustration project, and they look absolutely pretty! Can you guess which fashion designer the illustrated clothes represent?

Outfit of the Day

I love mixing mismatched patterns in my outfits, they're not always easy to pull off, and not always something to invest in for years to come, so for such looks I usually browse high-street stores. I came across these boyfriend-cut peach and white striped shorts and striped/polka dots busson-down shirt at the GAP three weeks ago. I loved how the patterns complement each other, plus they're the perfect lazy/casual friday attire. I accessorized the look with my Chloe espadrilles, my Celine bag, and a panama hat.

A Day in Doha

On my way from Kuwait to Doha-Qatar, I kept on re-organizing my agenda to plan what I'll be doing in the afternoon before heading to  The Kayys   event, since I'll arrived 3 hours before the event. Ironically I wasn't planning to go to any shopping mall, I guess I'm getting enough of retail therapy from my day job. So I was contemplating should I go to the Modern Islamic Museum , which I've been to previously , or go to Mathaf , since I haven't been to it yet but it takes longer to get there. By the time I  boarded the plane and checked-in to the hotel it was 2:30PM already, I was too exhausted and starving to leave the hotel, so I decided to explore the hotel, grab something to eat, and then get ready for the event. I stayed at Saint Regis , which I think it makes such a great family hotel because of its facilities, plus it offers  the Michelin star cuisine of Gordon Ramsay and Hakkasan as part of its dinning facilities.  Anyways, when I arrived to

Emma Kuo and Her Favorite Clutch

It took me a while to focus on the details on these clutches because of the busy background. I have'nt seen them up-close, so my judgment and admiration are solely based on these photos. Allow me to introduce you to a New York-based brand called Emma Kuo . Founded in 2011, Emm Kuo's modern designs are inspired by architectural influences, strong textural contrasts and clean shapes.  Her clutches offer a mix of the most luxurious European leathers, exotic skins and customized hardware in an intricate, but understated way. Don't they feel like a mix between Edie Parker clutches and Kotur ? I wonder if the price point is reasonable or not.

The Kayys

Last Saturday I was invited to the launch of The Kayys Spring/Summer 2014 collection in Doha, Qatar. I was excited about the event and meeting the sister-designer trio, especially that I've never seen their work up-close and I wanted to pick their brains out and find out what the inspiration behind their collections. I've seen photos of their Ramadan collection last year and some pieces looked just phenomenal! I arrived on time to the Gallery where  The Kayys 's new collection was showcased. Invited guests were required to wear the wristband, which was included in the hologram-ish invite, in order to access the gallery, located in  Katara , a beautiful place where cultural awareness is promoted through festivals, exhibitions, seminars, concerts, and all forms of artistic expression in a cultural village. We first stayed in a hall, photo above, to mingle before we were guided to another connected hall where the collection was displayed. The hall had foil-like ra
