Now here's something to get you all excited, and forget about missing instagram! Saudi Designer Mohammed Ashi of Ashi Studio is in Kuwait now until Tuesday 3rd July to promote his new collection. If you wish yo book and appointment, please call (+961) 70 623771. Ashi is welcoming clients at the Mariott Courtyard Hotel in Kuwait.  I had a hard time deciding which photo to feature on this post! It was impossible to pick a couple so my apologies if this post requires a lot of scrolling down. But hey, think of it as an alternative to instagram since this drug  program is down, so enjoy the beauty.

If you're still into Collars...

Here is a budget-friendly option courtesy of H&M . I feel it looks better with knitted tops than any other fabric. I can't remember the exact price but I'm pretty sure it won't cost an arm and a leg.

Video: Ashi Studio Caftans Collection 2012‏

Ladies and fashion-savvy readers, allow me to give you a sneak peek of my ultimate favorite fancy Ramadan caftan for this year. It is with great pleasure to present you with MAGDALENA, Ashi Studio's latest fashion film and a sneak peak of their new caftan collection coming out very soon . MAGDALENA is a collection inspired from Japonism, the influence of arts of Japan on those of the West. Oh Ashi , you never fail to impress me. Remember how obsessed I was with his previous caftan collection ? Keep an eye on this blog for photos of Ashi's new collection soon.

Lazy Summer Days & Nights

And from beach and pool footwear to casual cool wear for your day and night off-duty outings. Such occasions are the perfect opportunity to throw on something fun and light. I spotted these pair of embroidered jeans by a french brand called April May at FashCode boutique the other day, the Navajo-inspired embroidery detail has this perfect blend of bohemian-chic to it; but I'm not sure if these embroidered shapes mean something in the Navajo culture, I have to be careful here and politically correct you know, don't want to offend anyone. Price tag? KD 85. I also liked this light tropical colored t-shirt which was priced at KD 39 and now it is selling for KD 15.500. Perfect with boyfriend jean or shorts or even a ripped denim skirt a la Acne style.

Fun in the Sun

Hitting the beach or the pool this weekend Check out these fun and budget-friendly alternatives to your flip flops to prance around the pool or the beach. I spotted them at River Island and H&M . The first pair with colorful bead details reminded of of a picnic bag my mom used to carry in the late 70's. The mini wedge heels are perfect to add some height to flatter your figure too. As for the ones shown below, they're more water resistant, I'd like to call them the scuba sandals, inspired by Louboutin I guess, and they're quite comfortable too.

You've Got Chain Mail

Some while ago I was complaining about how Chanel is suffering from lack of creativity in the bags department; but then came the Boy bag, and followed by the Baluchon bag. Oh my! Chanel's on a roll! I fell head over heels in love with the Baluchon bag when I first saw it on the runway; how could someone possibly resist a pretty coco thing wrapped like a tiny little package? I honestly didn't think I'll ever see it on the shop floor. But fortunately for me I did! The black Baluchon was spotted at Chanel boutique in London and its white version was spotted at the brand's boutique right here in K-town. The bag comes in two sizes and has two side zippers.

Just Like Prada?

When I saw this top with satin sleeves adored with yellow rhinestone at H&M the other day, I instantly remembered Prada's S/S 2012 collections. And even though I'm not a huge fan of bling-bling, I actually liked this one. It would look cute worn tucked with a pleated skirt or maybe pair of cropped pants and Prada's Cadillac heels? The very affordable blush pink top is priced at KD 10.900. Catch it if you can!

Recycled Statement

Remember the art piece that I really liked during my visit to REUSE 5.0 exposition a couple of months back? (previous post here ) The one that had the following quote? "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it"? Well, the creative brain behind it, Ms. Jena Al-Awadhi who also happens to be a university students, has sent me these featured photos of her latest project of designing statement necklaces. She has made three statement necklaces each representing a different material: metal, paper, plastic to promote recycling. The metal bib necklace is made entirely from scratch out of aluminum sheet for a base and then I attached nuts, bolts, nails and any scraps of metal she could get her hands on. The plastic is made out of legos and the paper bib necklace is made out of... well paper from magazines! Jena's collection was exhibited at an event at The Scientific Center to launch their first environment-friendly 3D IMAX film. " I am obsessed with je

Something for Ramadan

So I was casually browsing the shop floor of FashCode boutique the other day when I spotted this cute striped caftan with plissĆ© pleats designed by Kuwaiti emerging designer Reham Baluchi . She has recently started displaying her selection of summery dresses, caftans, embroidered vests and ruffled skirts at FashCode , and I liked this design the most because it's very well tailored, has this on-trend drop dipped hem, cute little details on the shoulders, and an optional cord belt. Sweet and simple. Check out the close-up photos below for a better look. Fashcode is located at the Avenues Phase II.

Just Like Isabel Marant...

Spotted these nude sandals at Zara from their new collection the other day which looked very similar to Isabel Marant 's Rea leather  sandals , shown here in the last photo. Now all you need is a pair of tie-dye denim pants ( this or this ), and a cool t-shirt to nail that Parisian chic/americana so-on-trend look. And here are the original Isabel Marant  Rea leather  sandals . If you wear size 40, then this is your lucky day! You can buy them here on discount. They were priced KD 184 and now KD 12.

Zou Bisou Bisou

Have you noticed lately how fashion brands are fascinated by lips? Designers have worked a quirky cool charm into shoes, jewelry and clothes too using playful lips perfect for your off-duty outings. As a dedicated Mad Men-ologist, I couldn't help but start singing the now-very-famous song Zou Bisou Bisou , thanks to Don Draper's young wife Megan (Jessica ParĆ©). Speaking of which, I miss Betty Draper, I want to see more of her, I can't believe she fell for Henry! Oh well, back to our Bisou post... Featured here are Charlotte Olympia's   Kiss me Dolores shoes ,  Markus Lupfer sequined wool sweater , Solange Azagury-Partridge hot lips 18-karat gold ring , and Charlotte Olympia's red and pink butter-soft suede Bisoux loafers with cut-out lips.

Something for Your Formal Outing

Make a come back to retro hairstyle with this oh-so-pretty crystal encrusted hair accessory, which I spotted at H&M store the other day in the Avenues. Simply part your hair to one side after curling the lower half of your hair with curlers or a curling iron, then secure this hair accessory tightly on the other side of the hair making sure hair is pulled back smoothly on this side.Et voilĆ ! You're good to go.

Just Like Valentino...

Spotted this faux leather oversized clutch with snake-skin print at H&M the avenues the other day and it instantly reminded of Valentino's Rockstud oversized leather clutch. I'm not going gaga over this one, but it might do the job if you're traveling to an exotic destination and need to carry something that you can throw on the sand without worrying about it.
