Living on the Edge

I was at Burj Jassim the other day for my mani/pedi appointment at Bubbles Nail Spa when I realized that there was this one shop that always seemed to skip my radar, for some unknown reason, when walking around the mini mall. And since I had some spare time before my appointment, I decided to go to the mentioned shop, called Edge Boutique , and have a quick browse. I noticed that they didn't have a huge selection of clothes, but according to the sales lady, it's because they're in preparation for a big Ramadan exhibition set to be held this Sunday June 3rd at 7PM, where they'll be hosting an evening celebrating the talents of 5 local and regional designers and their caftan collections, more details here . However, when it comes to the accessories department, Edge Boutique had a big selection of mouthwatering statement accessories by Mawi jewellery , Dannijo , and a new brand (new to me at least) called Nowhere . Think strong, bold, and sparkly earrings, rings and n

Got My Mind Set on You

I got my mind set on you But it's gonna take money A whole lotta spending money It's gonna take plenty of money To do it right... Remember this 80's hit song by George Harrison ? I remember when I was really young, I used to play it on and on. Only very recently I found out that George Harrison was the lead guitarist of The Beatles! Probably one of his only solo songs? And all that time I thought her was an American singer. But that's not the point of this post. This song exactly describes how I feel about falling for 4 different bags at the same time. I spotted them at Givenchy boutique in 360 Mall and I couldn't decide which one to go for. And of course I wouldn't buy all of them at once. That would be ridiculous. Right? A current favorite is this Givenchy   antigona bag. The drawbacks however are 1) its light shade, which means prone to stains, although I'm in love with its color-combo. 2) it was slightly on the heavy side, not sure if I'd

Pretty in Pastel and Pleats

Wedding season is upon us and my pet peeve as a wedding guest is struggling to find a dazzling yet not-so-over-the-top cocktail dress that speaks volumes. Of course AlOthman boutique , which always seems to save the day in the evening wear department, had this this pretty pastel-colored cocktail dress by Turkish designer Hakaan . The pleats and paneled details on the dress add to its beauty. I think this design only needs a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood strctured platform heels, and a pair of statement earrings in bright colors to complete the look. Voilà! Plain and simple.

Ready for Your Summer Getaway?

As I was browsing Goji Boutique to check out their latest arrivals, I noticed that a lot of the pieces posted make great additions to create that perfect capsule Summer getaway wardrobe. The key of course is to learn how to mix and match these pieces with existing wardrobe selection in order to give you a fresh yet varied look. So I picked these six pieces and imagined how I'd wear them starting with... The maxi dresses by MYNE (KD 62 and KD 59). They're fresh, comfortable, and easy to wear. You can dress them down with a pair of gladiator sandals and a large shopping bag, like the one featured here by Ghibli (KD 345) or dress them up with bold accessories and wedges heels in the evening. This cute and colorful striped top by Lemlem (KD 48) makes a great choice for when you want to shop or do some sightseeing. You can wear it with shorts or fitted cargo pants and an oversized sunglasses for a casual chic day look.  OK, this pineapple printed collar sleeve..

Decking Out Your Home in Style with The Iris House

I want to live here. I could just sum up my post on The Iris House with this one sentence and leave you scroll through the photos. But it wouldn't be fair not to dwell on the beauty that surrounded me when I first stepped foot inside the recently relocated home accessories shop. Located in Messilah, The Iris House curates different home furniture and accessories from all around the world. The way their merchandise was displayed really felt like they were not only selling pretty things, but also focused on creating beautiful, and most importantly, complete and coherent environment for your home. Think furniture, paintings, antiques, sculpture, wall and floor decor, cutlery, hanging lights and chandeliers, mirrors, and so much more. Almost every piece complimented the other pieces around it. I was really overwhelmed by the number of beautiful items surrounding me, and I mentally started creating "I-want" list in my head! Again bad news for my savings, especially
