Pointy On Point

Call it growing old(er), but I find myself recently always striving for clothes and accessories that are both stylish and comfortable. I no longer have the stamina to wear something that's uncomfortable. Comfort has become a “must have” when it comes to my fashion purchases. So for shoes, I've been opting for fancy flats that are anything but boring. Like these pair by Max & Co. They're pointy, they're flats, they're covered in faux exotic skin, they don't break the bank, and their bright red! What's not to love?!?! You can find these pretty pointy flats at Max & Co. Boutique located at the Avenues Phase II.

LEO Studio Design

I just got to know about this quirky-cool Italian brand called LEO Studio Design while browsing the selection at Harvey Nichols Kuwait . I love pieces with quirky flavor, but I know how I'll feel about them after a couple of months. I'll be like "What the hell was I thinking?!". HOWEVER! if the price points are not breaking the bank then there is no harm, right? I thought so too! So not only I loved the embroidery detail on the bags and shoes, but also their price tags! The shoes were selling for KD 53 only?!! Not bad at all! And the backpack was selling for 60 something?? I think I'm sold on this one! Scroll down to check out the other styles.

Finds in Faiha

This summer I'm all about piling on jewelry to up the ante of my summer dresses/caftans look. To keep growing your jewelry selection can be kind of stressful on your savings, and sometimes you just need easy and affordable pieces to stay on track in the financial department. So when I came across this tiny shop at, wait for this, Faiha Co-Op, I was overwhelmed by the selection in-store! bare in mind though, not everything on display was appealing to my taste, some were borderline tacky, but I did find some fun everyday accessories that you won't feel sorry for if they ever get lost! Check out some of my finds.

Just Like Marni and Miu Miu...

Let's face it, we all love to splurge once in a while. But there comes a time when a girl needs to watch her spending when shopping, so you're best choice in these dry days is to shop the high-street. I spotted these few budget-friendly styles at Uterqüe's store the other day, they're mostly inspired by Marni and Miu Miu . However, I'm pretty sure that will get you in step and on-trend without breaking the bank.

Egyptian Exhibtion at Kuwait International Fairground

I've seen a lot of coverage about The Egyptian Exhibition at Kuwait International Fairground in Mishref by fellow bloggers and instagrammers, plus my aunt kept raving about it, so I decided to pay it a visit and see what the fuss is all about. First of all, the amount of cotton caftans I've seen by the many booth participating there was really insane and kind of repetitive. However, they all shared one main quality. Everything was SO CHEAP!! In value that is. I mean you could buy 4 cotton casual caftans for KD 20 only!! Mind you, not all had nice designs, but if you browsed hard, you might find a style or two that looked quite decent. Actually I was quite impressed by a couple of booths there. On was a booth for Syrian merchandise, which I ended up buying 4 caftans from mainly because I'm in love with hand embroidered cross-stitching (check out the photos above), and an African booth which sold all sorts of African accessories and nick-knacks. In fact, the Kenyan sales ...

Just Like Isabel Marant...

I was browsing the collection at high-street store Bimba and Lola , and spotted these tassels decorated sandals. These look very familiar, I thought to myself. Wait!!! These are very much "inspired" by Isabel Marant's  Clay tassel leather sandals. You can compare for yourself here . I haven't done this "Just like…" exercise for a while! I'm glad it's kick starting with this post. More to come.

Just Like Dior...

It seems that Uterqüe were inspired by Dior's much-replicated and overly exposed embellished sneakers. Honestly I prefer those over Dior's! Spotted them at the brand's store in Marina Mall.

Palestinian Inspired Embroidery

How cool is this cropped jacket I spotted at Zara the other day?! The piece is covered with Palestinian inspired embroidery and would look so uber-cool paired with a maxi jersey dress with a side-slit and a pair of biker boots? Oh! And in case you didn't know, I am now on Snapchat , so you can add me by my user name: confashions.

H&M STUDIO SS15 - Press Preview

I was invited to preview the H&M STUDIO SS15 women and men’s collections at the H&M Showroom in Grand Avenue. The collection is very relaxed, chic, and and has Miami vibes all over it. Think palm trees, flamingo prints, sun and the beautiful lifestyle of Miami. The collection consists of silk pyjamas, masculine stripes, v-neck sweater, comfy caftans, and more. I haven't had the chance to properly view the men’s collection, but I'm sure there are some pieces of this collection can also be worn by women, as it the case in previous collections by the brand. What was also cute at the press preview was that we had a complimentary manicure with cute flamingos decorating it. Check out the photo below. You can properly view the collection by clicking here . The collection will be available at H&M Kuwait on March 12th.

It's All About the Beads

I was walking randomly around Souk Mubarakiya the other day, which is one of my favorite things to do recently, and came across these bright beaded necklaces. I was more interested in the neutral colored ones with the vintage-like metal charm. "They're not for sale", told me the sales guy referring to the ones with the mental charms which of course I fell in love with the most. "What do you mean?!! You have to sell them! To me!". The guys shook his head in refusal. I was only able to buy the rest of the colored beads. Oh well... I shrugged my shoulders, took these photos for future reference in case I change my mind and left in peace. Note to retailers, please don't display something in your store that cannot be purchased by a client, not a very pleasant experience for a hard core shopper.

The Final Countdown

The Net-a-Porter International sale clearance is now on! Don't miss out on your favorite designers in their final markdowns, including Valentino, Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, J.Crew and many more.  I know it gets overwhelming browsing the sale online, my tip is to start with the shoes first, you can filter them with your size and they're easier to buy online than any other category, wouldn't you say? Oh! And you might want to know that new items have also been added to the sale. So sale away here .

Just Like Chanel...

I spotted this  Native American-inspired knitted skirt at Zara the other day and instantly remembered Chanel's  Metiers d'Art Dallas collection. All you need now to get the look for less is a pair of cowboy boots and a budget-friendly poncho. Yeeha! Runway images: Style.com

Cheap Thrills!

The thrill of finding a great bargain! Loving my new Rachel Zoe's set of two rings for KD 29 only!! I got them from AlOthman Fashion and they're also available on Shopbop.com too!

Winter is Coming

Winter is Coming! Keep your head on with the Game of Thrones Beanie hat spotted at Zara the other day. This would definitely appeal to all hardcore Game of Thrones fans.

Chic Happens

The perfect sweat top for lazy Fridays and not-in-the-mood kind of days from TopShop in Marina Mall.

Razzle Dazzle Denim

I spotted these eye-catching embellishment in the form of jeweled flowers on two different denim pants the other day, the first was by Pinko at Harvey Nichols Kuwait, and the second by good ol' Zara . Then days later, I spotted Stella McCartney' s version of the embellished denim here , which kind of looked like a copy of  Tu Es Mon Tresor 's.  I instantly remembered when I first wore my Tu Es Mon Tresor Pearl Embellished Boyfriend Jean, I bought them from Browns Fashion in Dec 2013. There were, still are, my ultimate casual-luxe look. Sometimes I wonder how would a small brand or an emerging designer feel when they see their original designs and creativity being copied by big brands. There's nothing much they can do, too exhausting and time/money consuming to take things to the courts. Besides, in the design and creative filed, be it fashion or art, copyrights barely exist, which is good and bad. Good? So that it won't constrict or limit creativity. ...

Sparkly Feet

How pretty are those sparkly details and meticulous embroidery on this pair of flat shoes, spotted at  Uterqüe store in the Avenues Phase II. I'm sure it comes with a budget-friendly price tag!
