Chanel... The Wild Wild West

As you might already know through my instagram , the Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 collection has hit K-town. Better known as ‘the Metier d’art Paris Dallas’, the new collection was reflected on the window displays, and although I didn't get a closer look to the clothes selection, I did skim through the sheriff-inspired jewelry, silver accented shoes, and embossed bags. Honestly? Maybe I'm old-school but I really don't get this hybrid Paris-Dallas collection. I didn't like the boy bags, I didn't like the flats, I only kind of liked flat ankle boots but then they looked to costume-y for my taste, actually they reminded me of Nicole Kidman in Cold Mountain . Maybe if I had a better look at the clothes I might have changed my mind? I don't know. I guess all that western hardware just killed it for me, in a negative way. I guess it's good news for my wallet.  I'd like to know your thoughts on this collection? A hit or a miss?

Louboutin Looking for Love

A chic friend of mine contacted me the other day about her new purchase. You see, she asked her husband to get her these sold-out-everywhere Christian Louboutin Costa Nada flat sandals while he was in London, and what we fear the most happened. They shoes didn't fit!! She shared with me the photos of her new shoes, and I fell in luuuuve! Too bad I'm not a size 39.5. Forget sky-high Louboutins, I’m officially after these dreamy flats! Anyhow, these stunning flats are looking for an owner to love and to hold wear. If you're interested, please call (+965) 9937-3667. Below you'll find photos of the shoes in different angels and a copy of the invoice for reference.

Passion Collection

I just got an e-mail from the founders and designers of Saudi-based brand,  Passion Collection . They're actually two sisters who have a vision, to create and design modern caftans that also preserve our traditional patterns and fabrics like the chmaagh. Honestly I was completely awestruck with their work. I'm particularly impressed by the unique way they demonstrated their innovative use of the traditional fabric (chmaagh) and their strong determination to put their ideas into practice. Scroll down to get a quick look at their designs. You can also view more by  clicking here .

Browsing Boutique 4

Getting caught up in the daily grind makes me forget about visiting some of my favorite boutiques. It's been a while since I last posted about Boutique 4 . So over the weekend I managed to visit the multi-brand store and browse their sale and non-sale items. What I love about this boutique is that I'm always bound to find something outrageously unique and hard-to-find pieces that keeps the fashion crowd guessing. This is THE place to stop in for an avant-garde fashion lover. The selection can be overwhelming sometimes as I browse rack to rack, mind you I browse the women's as well as the men's collection. I don't mind buying from their men's selection. In fact a bought a couple of oversized tops throughout the years. I spotted some really cool things, starting with Charlotte Olympia shoes (heart heart!).. scroll away my lovlies.  The perfect beach straw hat! I loved it! It looked more like an umbrella than a hat! Beautiful!  Gorgeous  accesso

Introducing AKS

My sweet good friend A introduced me to a new Bahrain-based brand last week. She discovered the brand when she participated in  Al Nuwair Expo for her personal business, and instantly fell in love with the collection displayed in the booth next to her. AKS is the name of the brand and I tried to get more information about how the brand started and who's the talented brain behind the brand but so far I failed to find anything, except  AKS 's instagram account here . Thankfully my friend A managed to get the designer's lookbook and forwarded it to me. As I skimmed through its e-pages, I got drawn to the polished, feminine pieces with a laid-back feel. Soft silhouettes, delicate details and a pure palette defined the relaxed theme of the collection featured. So proud to be introduced to this talent from our region. I'm sharing with you here some of my favorite looks. Enjoy the beauty. For further information about the brand, please send an e-mail to Sales@aa-ks.

Something for the Sushi Fans

I spotted this  Lizzie Furtonato's sushi bun clutch at Boutique N  in Burj Jassim the other day. Doesn't it make such a delightfully quirky cool gift for your foodie friend! According to the designer , she has designed the Sushi Bun clutch in collaboration with illustrator extraordinaire and close friend Bernadette Pascua , The illustrator beautifully watercolored the rolls and their embroiderers brought them to life, highlighting wasabi with light green threads and fish roe with neon beads. You can also find the clutch here .

This is the perfect time to shop for timeless pieces from brands you love on a discount.  So, allow me to share with you a few of my favorite Boutique 1 picks from the trendy SS14 collection:  Band Of Outsiders stripe shrunken Db blazer ,  Isabel Marant Etoile Nea printed boyfriend jeans , and  CLU side ruffle LS stripe top .

Orient 499 in Kuwait

Beirut-based boutique Orient 499 , known as the extravagant hub for all modern ethno-chic fashion, jewellery, furniture and home accessories with middle eastern twist, hosted an exhibition last week at Dar Al Funoon  in Kuwait City with Iwan Maktabi . Exhibitions like these make me miss Beirut so much! I think the last time I've been there was like 5 or 6 years ago. I miss the sunny beaches and chilly mountains, walking around Saifi village to go have breakfast with my sister in law, and savoring the warm baked goodies in preparation for a busy day ahead.  Oh well, I hope I'll be able to visit Beirut soon. So last week I settled for the next best thing, visiting   Orient 499 ' s exhibition. I went to check out their caftans collections and have a look at their home accessories. Of course the one caftan that I really liked had to cost KD 900+!! Whyyyy!! But according to the sales lady, that was a special piece and and took them 2-3 months to create mainly because there

Sale Away with AlOthman

AlOthman boutique's end-of-season sale is now on! And that's like music to my ears, well actually any high-end retailer that goes on sale is not only music to my ears but more like playing my ultimate favorit hit songs of the 80's and 90s!!! You can now enjoy 30% off favorite designers, including Isabel Marant , Erdem ,  Alexander Wang , ACNE Studios and many more! Naturally my focus goes straight to accessories first, especially they're from the summer season which means more wearability for us.  My first pick goes to these stunning  Alexander Wang  tan leather and suede Malgosia lace-up sandal. Their color is perfect to pair with summer staples, and the detail on the back is just genius!  Nathalie Trad's mother of pearl and yellow resin box clutch designed with a magnetic closure is spacious enough to fit two iPhones, keys, lipstick, and a small credit cards wallet. I loved it and it's the LAST piece.  Stunning Derek Lam  peep-two sanda
