Outfit of the Day

You may have already seen me wearing this beautiful and airy caftan on my instagram account, but I though I'd share it here as well with an additional photo in an almost different angel. I bought it from a local designer Sharifa Al Falah of Shugar Collection . I loved the fact that it came with a thick cotton slip and had a semi-high-low style. I chose to pair it with a turquoise and gold necklace which my friend got for me from Beirut and a pair of red/turquoise slippers/Najdiyah by new Arabian Gulf footwear brand called Tamashee . They're currently my new obsession and been wearing them all Ramadan! Actually I'll be wearing them with jeans too once the weather get a little bit cooler.  The photos were taken by the lovely Sarah Al Musallam of Blaq Concept store. Thank you love! xx

Outfit of the Day

Another day, another caftan, and I ain't complaining! I love wearing caftans, in fact I have decided to wear them all year long to friends and family gatherings. They're so comfortable and easy to wear. Let's just hope wearing caftans constantly doesn't translate to my waist getting wider gradually. I'm desperately trying to control my dessert and sweets intake during the month of Ramadan. I hope I'll fit into my eid outfit!  Anyways, allow me to introduce you to one of my many favorite caftans this month, my  Jallabiya   caftan.   It's probably one of the heaviest I have ever worn, I'm not an expert but it feels like it's been designed using at least 10 meters of fabric! The good thing is that although it's heavy on the hanger, it's actually quite light when worn. I love the color combination used and how it sways while I walk, swaying is my new flavor these days.  I chose to accessorize my Jallabiya  caftan with a classi

Cool Finds at Zara

Zara is among the few high-street store that allows you to stay on-trend without spending a fortune. TopShop used to be link that but the past year, its selection is not as strong as it used to be. I remember I used to shop at Topshop at least once a week when its main branch used to be in Salmiya opposite to Al Fanar Complex. Now, the last 3 times I've been to the store, I came out empty handed. I hope next season TopShop would bounce back.  So back to  Zara , I spotted this white pearl decorated hair accessory, which I posted on my insta recently, such a cute addition to an evening-wear attire, I must warn you though, it's kind of metal so expect some pressure and discomfort when worn for a long time. I also spotted this pair of Prada/Marni's inspired sandals. They looked so cute, wouldn't you say?

ESME VIE Fashion Show at Italian Couture Week AltaRoma

I just received by e-mail these beautiful images of an emerging brand called ESME VIE . The brand recently debuted its Summer 2015 collection preview at Italian Couture Week AltaRoma .  According to the brand's press release,  ESME VIE  has been embraced from its first beginning by big names in the field of fashion. Already before the official brand launch,  ESME VIE  has been declared winner of the last year’s 2013 edition of the internationally renowned “Who Is On Next” contest for emerging fashion designers hosted by  AltaRoma  and Vogue Italia, and subsequently inserted in the selection of Vogue Talents. The brand is already stocked at Moda Operandi and Harrods. Inspired by the colours of summer, from shades of seaside and sky blue to the pink and violet hues of late spring and early summer flowers, the collection featured a combinations of cocktail dresses, some vintage-inspired, with a touch of couture thanks to the embellished rich flower decorations. Each s

Caftans Galore

If you have been following me on instagram , you have probably seen some of the images featured here posted on my insta. These were taken the second day of Ramadan when the entire family usually gathers to greet each other for the arrival of this blessed month. I don't know about you but I so enjoy our family gatherings, It really feels good to have a genuine family that supports you through think and thin, connecting with cousins, bonding moments, everybody talking at the same time, aunts complaining about our obsessive use of iPhones, kids running around causing chaos, so much love (and sarcasm) in the air! Besides, it's where you find all the good home-made food! Anyhow, allow me to share with you what I wore on the first official Ramadan family gathering, I chose to wear a striped caftan designed by the talented local designer Reem Al Mudhaf of NoonoPink , as shown in the photo above. Scroll down for more photos of some of my family members and what they chose to we

Just Like Edie Parker...

Spotted this acrylic clutch bag at Zara the other day and it instantly reminded me of Edie Parker's signature art-deco/glitter-finish and acrylic designs. A frugal find for dressing up your evening attire. However, if you live in Kuwait, you can shop and customize your  Edie Parker   at AlOthman Boutique.

Mooiloop x Alison Van Autreve

I have an endless love for mixed and unmatched outfits, not the best wardrobe investment I'm telling you as you easily get tired from the look, that's why recently I started to think twice before I go for this look. It's my new approche to build a timeless wardrobe  However, it doesn't hurt to admire or window-shop such crazy and colorful looks. I came across this fun and summery look by a new brand called  Mooiloop & Mooiloop x Alison Van Autreve  from their Spring Summer 2015's lookbook. Doesn't it look so 60's?! Love it.

Coming Soon to a Wedding Near You..

Stephane Rolland Haute Couture Fall Winter 2014 presentation took place last Tuesday, 8th July during Paris Haute Couture Week. I wasn't too, dare I say, crazy about the collection. I actually only liked two looks from the entire collection, the one shown in the photo above with its conceal and reveal details, and the white long sleeves gown with the 3D Calla Lily-like detail on the side, which looks also hard to pull off as you'd need to be really skinny and tall to not be overwhelmed by the floral detail. I personally prefer the couturier's usual aesthetic of monochromic and semi-minimal gowns of previous seasons. What are your thoughts?

Event: BLAQ Concept Store Launches its Special Ramadan Selection for BLAQ Night

What a night to kick start Qurqaian (Kuwait's equivalent of Halloween minus the costumes) in a chic manner! Last night was a welcoming wardrobe overhaul for every fashion-loving lady thanks to the launch of BLAQ Concept store's BLAQ Night. Guests were able to shop exclusive and limited edition selection by emerging and hot designers in the field of fashion and jewelry including Palmer Harding's shirts-turned maxi tops and perfect-for-ramadan caftans, Aamaya by Priyanka stunning jewelry, and the lovely Bahrain based brand  Asia Jewellers . It is worth mentioning that one of Palmer Harding's pieces, the sleeveless high-low top as shown on the charming co-owner of BLAQ Sarah Al Musallam in the photo below, was actually suggested by Sarah herself, knowing that the market needs flowy, easy breezy pieces to withstand our 10-months long summer and can be used as a refreshing alternative to the Ramadan caftan.  The designer behind Aamaya by Priyanka also made a
