LFW: Eley Kishimoto Fashion Exhibtion

During London Fashion Week I was invited to attend the fashion exhibition of London based designers Eley Kishimoto titled Living with patterns which was held at the Aram Gallery in Covent Garden. It's something completely different from what I expected to see during LFW. And I mean this in a good way, the entire ambiance felt so comfortable and friendly, people were not rushing to get their seats, and it definitely wasn't about power-dressing. It was simply a relaxed quirky-cool environment for you to observe the collection, or mingle and socialize with people with different backgrounds, or simply enjoy the live music played by a retro looking band. The exhibition was not only to showcase the designer's S/S 2013 clothes, but also included other home accessories like vases, rugs and plates all decorated with Eley Kishimoto signature patterns, which I personally favored over clothes. The clothes collection can be best described as a clash of modern and retro with

I Have Been Revolutionized

In fashion, there are some things you can never have enough of; in my case these would be the 3 S's: shoes  statement necklaces, and sunglasses . So I found out that Revolution boutique received the latest collection of Moo Piyasombatkul sunnies through their instagram account, I made sure to rush to the boutique over the weekend. I've been eyeing these Baroque framed sunglasses ever since I saw them last year at Browns boutique in London, I didn't buy them back then because they looked somewhat similar to my Prada's , especially that the Baroque shapes were in white. This time, Moo’s Baroque eyewear came in all black, with four different but equally fabulous designs. I immediately snatched one and started using it right there and then. Suddenly ADR's crocodile sunnies look so... blah compared to these beauties framing your face. Price tag? KD 160. And make sure to bring cash as they don't have a K-net machine. To find out the exact location of Rev

Just A Clarification...

In the latest issue of Qatar-based lifestyle magazine Haute Muse , Kuwait's latest blog sensation my fellow bloggerista Ascia of Hybird in a Headpiece was interviewed. However, the feature introduces pretty Ascia as the founder of Confashions from Kuwait , which is of course misleading and not true as obviously I'm the blogger behind Confashions. Ascia has thankfully posted a clarification on her instagram. And I thought it's imporant to mention it here as well.  I don't know why or how the writer mixed us up. In her piece the writer mentions that the blog was launched five years ago and that it posts about fashion week coverage and the latest in-store finds, which I think refers to my blog. The rest of the interview however is related to Ascia. Oh well, I guess these things happen in print media...

New on Dear Confashion

I have just received these photos of UAE-based brand Keswah Eid Collection 2012. I always liked the brand's approach to design, simple yet elegant. And this campaign is by far my favorite one of the brand. You can view their latest lookbook by clicking here . Check out more items on Dear Confashion page by clicking here .

LFW: Joining Matches Celebrations for LFW Designers

On day one of London Fashion Week, I was invited to Matches VIP launch party in celebration of the strong relationships they have built with London Fashion Week and London-based designers. The high-end retailer, curated a small exhibition of London's stellar luxury labels in their Marylebone store which has been turned into a celebration of all things British.  There were three installations set up inside the Matches boutique to showcase the Matches edit of Best of British, with key pieces from each designer from AW12. What caught my attention was this striking mannequin exhibit on the window display, it was dressed in this dramatic headpiece and gown, designed by Giles Deacon . They also had a live band playing music outside the store. And I got to meet the wonderful Matches team and one of my favorite fashion inspirations Caroline Issa executive fashion director of Tank Magazine , if you're following me on instgram I'm sure you know that by now. I also
