Ek Thongprasert

If you've been following me on instagram (@confashions), you probably know by now that the hip and avant-garde Boutique 4 has received a selection of Ek Thongprasert statement silicon necklaces, the most sought after fashion accessory of the season. Their eye-catching style is sure to be a conversation starter each time you wear the necklace. I wish they had stocked from the ones adorned with colored crystals too; I guess these styles wouldn't go quite well with the edgy feel of the boutique. I also fell in love with this red-chain necklace, I'm not sure what the material is, but I do know it's a great way to celebrate the new season of greys and blacks with a shock of red. Boutique 4 is located in Shuwaikh, close to Al Telal Complex.

LFW: All That Glitters....

Oh look what we have here! Another London Fashion Week post! Actually I just stumbled upon another batch of photos that I have taken during my London Fashion Week experience which I completely forgot about. And I guess it's not too late to share them with you. Today's post is focused on the new jewelry brands that I came across, or new to me at least.  Yunus & Eliza is a London-based jewelry brand that stopped me in my tracks. Their selection of rings, bracelets, and necklaces were beyond amazing! They basically bridge the gap between art and fashion. Or in other words, they design sculptures to be worn and flaunted. Check out the Dali Puppet ring in the first photo shown above, simply TDF! The next three photos are also pieces by Yunus & Eliza . They're not all from their brand's S/S 2013 collection, but they're definitely worth to be showcased and admired. This statement necklace by Erickson Beamon is not from the S/S 2013 collection,

LFW: Danielle Romeril

Remember in one of my previous London Fashion Week posts , where I shared a photo of this hip and uber-cool outfit with laser-cut leather top by an anonymous brand? Guess what? I finally managed to find out what the brand is, thanks to my decluttering project which I started today. The London/Dublin brand is called Danielle Romeril . The designer, who graduated from The Royal College of Art in London, launched her debut collection during LFW last month. Laser-cut leather, silk lamé, and crystal pearls were just some of the materials and embellishments that have been carefully selected by the designer to breathe life into the designs. Featured below are some of my favorite looks. You can find out more by clicking here .

Just Like...

I find it amusing playing the guessing game at Zara and finding out who the inspiration behind their newest arrivals. I must say this season inspirations from Isabel Marant dominated the Zara scene. And today's post is no different, we do have an "inspired-by- Marant " pair (shown in the last photo below). And we also have some inspirations by other designers. Let's start with these golden embroidered velvet ankle boots, they do look like they were inspired by the black suede ankle boots from Dolce & Gabbana . And below we have the flats with the colored studs just like Louboutin . And finally we have a pair of black leather silver/gold-tone studded brogue which look a lot like Church's .

Artistic Etro

While shopping around Al Ostoura Boutique in Zahra Complex the other day, I spotted these Etro white leather handbags with adorable colorful cartoon illustrations.  Apparently they're from the S/S 2012 collection, but I just found out them. Personally I don't think they can be categorized as a "must-have" or "timeless" pieces (a collector's item maybe), however, they do make a nice gift for someone who's young (maybe a fresh high school grad) or someone who appreciates art and unique accessories. It's also so refreshing to see Etro 's classic paisley/baroque print bags revamped with a fun and colorful twist.  I'm not sure why these bags were not on sale, but they weren't too expensive. Price tag? Between KD 170 and KD 200 more or less.

Event: Out of Kuwait: Landscapes Expanded

Last week I visited  Out of Kuwait: Landscapes Expanded exhibition that was, and still is being held, at the Museum of Modern Art . The exhibition is organized by the British Council, the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP), and the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters. It showcases works of twelve Kuwait-based artists who have examined and reinterpreted the theme of landscape art during a one month artist residency program called Landscapes Expanded , and it presents the artists’ analysis of their everyday surroundings and comments on the social, political, and physical landscapes of modern Kuwait. One of my favorite pieces on display was the installation created by architect Abdulaziz Al Humaidi where he used plastic toy cars to recreate the pattern of a Sadu textile. According to the architect, the installation is not only to illustrate the undeniable impact of privately owned cars on Kuwaiti society, but to also present the car culture as symbolic of larger social,
