I just found out that French label Antik Batik has now its own stand-alone boutique at the Avenues Phase II opposite to Reiss. I wasn't too impressed with the selection in store but I guess that's the way this brand is, consistent in it's designs and embellishments. 

Hmm.. Does this logo look familiar?

Burberry opened two new stores in New York, which are the first of new concept stores for the brand. A 1500 square foot Burberry Brit store opened on the south side of the brand's NYC headquarters, showcasing ready to wear for men and women from the Burberry Brit collections including denim, outerwear and pieces from the Burberry Sport collections. The 1500 square foot Burberry London store opened on the north side of the headquarters, showcasing ready to wear for men and women from the Burberry London collections as well as accessories. The funny thing is that on the same day I received this news, I noticed that the window display of Burberry's boutique in K-town was being installed using a nice contemporary and innovative christams tree ornaments design, and the same concept as the newly opened Burberry London boutique in NYC.

How often do you get to see funky furniture in Kuwait at very very reasonable prices?! I came across these fun and funky looking bookcases at IKEA. And after researching IKEA's site , I discovered that these limited edition bookcases are actually designed to celebrate 30 years of  IKEA's famous bookcase: BILLY . It has a doodle pattern made up of Shakespeare love quotes and comes in red, green or orange.  

I've found some interesting accessory at H&M the other day, they're clip-on decorative brooches, one was a cluster of tiny metallic squares and the second pair was a glittery cobalt blue bows, which you can use to give your plain and simple flats a quick-makeover or a new look. And if you find the hardware clip to be a bit bothersome, you can remove that part and glue it on straight to your flats. I think you can also use them on belt or shirts to give them a new twist.

Dr. Naif Al Mutawa , the founder and CEO of Teshkeel Media Group and the creator of “ The 99 ”, an Islamic-themed comic book series, will be speaking at the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah Forum on Wednesday, 25 November at 7 PM. I passed by GAP the other day to buy some casual/comfy stuff for lounging at home and a beautifully printed box caught my attention. It turned out that this was actually the shoe box from Stella McCartney's limited collection for Baby GAP . It looked more like a beautiful gift box than a regular shoe box. I want one!

Shrekahnth is an Indian designer who showcased his first prêt-a-porter line, titled “ Arabian Warriors ,” at Dubai Fashion Week a month ago. What caught my attention was how his designs were visibly inspired by Islamic art and architecture using contemporary silhouettes and contrasting colors. I loved the beautiful modern Islamic prints used on his fabrics. Imagine the same print being used on Kaftans/darra’a on a bigger scale for Ramadan Nights. Maybe add a hidden belt or a high waist thick belt or a statement necklace to make it even more exquisite. That would be a refreshing concept from the patchwork we usually see in Ramadan exhibitions. Heard it through the grapevine that Villa Moda in Doha, Dubai, and Bahrain have already started their seasonal sale last Wednesday. A good friend also sent me a photo of Maison Martin Margiela's window display in Dubai, which I think is also owned by Villa Moda , and they're having 50% off everything. So far no news on Kuwait's VM having a sale. Isn't it too early to have a 50% seasonal sale in November? Does that mean Villa Moda Kuwait will be having its seasonal sale very very soon?! Or maybe it's a rumor? I'm not complaining here (heck I love bargains!) but also I don't want to feel sorry for my full-priced fall purchases which I still didn't get to wear, I should have waited a little!

This post is dedicated to those who haven't been to H&M's store at the Avenues to see the Jimmy Choo's collaboration collection. In the first photo you can see that the plastic barbie-pink clutches didn't sell well and I'm not surprised. Almost all clothes were available in most sizes. The one item that first sold out was the mesh vest top. From the looks of the stacked cobalt blue shoe boxes, it seems that the shoes didn't sell well either.

Sequin embellished jacket that is slightly cropped in length + tank top + tapered high waist silk pants + killer heels = Dead on trend. Price tag of the embellished jacket? KD 99.500 (YES, TopShop !). TopShop store is located at The Avenues, phase I.

The same shirt was also worn by Gwyneth Paltrow during the brand’s runway show. I love how the t-shirt is worn by Gwyneth with the sleeves rolled up paired with an unexpected feminine skirt.
