Last month I was skimming through one of the fashion magazine, I can’t recall which one, and saw Cate Blanchett wearing a beautiful black and white bubble dress for one of those star studded events. The article mentioned that the designer of the dress is Rue Du Mail . I haven't heard of her before, so I did my research and found her entire collection here . I immediately fell in love with Rue Du Mail . A very smart mixture of bubble and lamp-shade shapes with sharp stacked heels and wire hemmed evening dresses. I just found out by coincidence that my blog was featured in the hip and uber-style Middle Eastern lifestyle portal Dia Diwan last July 2007! I was completely blown away. Penelope and Monica Cruz for MNG collection is now available at all Mango stores throughout Kuwait. Following the trend of celebs turning into designers, the exotic Cruz sisters designed and modelled the limited-edition collection. And here are some photos which I've taken of the collection. So what do I think of the Cruz collection? I think the clothes look.. ordinary. Pretty much similar to the clothing you already see in H&M or Zara. I think they could have tried to be more innovative, rather than depending on what they see on the high-street. Or maybe the collection reflects their classic style? Hmm.. I wonder who's the next celeb in line for a designing collaboration.

After a loooong wait and a very heated discussion with one of my friends on whether Topshop Kuwait will ever get Unique's collection for fall 2007 or not, finally TopShop Kuwait displayed the new collection at their store at the Avenues. TopShop Unique is a design-led collection created each season by Topshop's in-house design team. Most items were already sold out (why do these things always happen to me!). If you thought you could never afford to buy Giles's fabulous creations, think again. Giles Deacon collaborated with New Look to offer a collection called " Gold ", four times a year. And this week Gold by Giles collection hit New Look shop located on the 1st floor of the Avenues . I was surprised that there was no big advertising campaigns to promote Giles collection through out the streets of Kuwait. It's so unlikely of Al-Shaya'a Group to do that. This ruby red aged leather handbag with gold hardware and a clasp fastening on front from Miu Miu is all you need to carry you throughout fall and beyond. Every fashion magazine I skimmed through lately had featured the bag in one of their articles or fashion shoots. The bag would go perfectly well with winter grays, blacks, whites, and pinks. I know I know.. I'm getting to sound like a broken record. But I couldn't resist sharing this with you guys and I'll make it brief to lessen the damage. This is what I found this week at Zara , a gradient black and gray wool A-line coat. Does the design and the look of the coat ring a bell? Yup! Another " Prada " item at Zara. Bingo! You guessed right! Way to go! The coat is sold for KD 29.500 . I must admit, the coat fits nicely which is not bad at all for the price you're paying for.
