Event: The WhiteExpo

Last night was a busy one for me, I left Amna Al Salem's event and headed straight to 360 Mall for the VIP opening of WhiteExpo event. And I don't know how safely I made it through traffic from Salmiya to South Surra! And still had my sanity by the time I got there. Phew!

Created by the lovely sisters May, Mariam, and Shaikha Al Hajeri, WhiteExpo is an exhibition that showcases mostly small local businesses and distinguished creations by Kuwaiti entrepreneurs for an opportunity to introduce their businesses to the community. You'd find a massive selection of Ramadan caftans by Hamsa, MonaCo., Reem Al Humaidan, Shugar, and more, a must-go if you haven't bought a caftan yet. Plus you will find a selection of bakery delicacies, kids clothing & accessories, jewelry, mobile accessories, and home accessories.
What makes WHITExpo so special is that it believes in giving back to the community. Their Make a Wish Tree, always displayed in the center of the hall, is dedicated and inspired to the orphans. I remember last year they dedicated it to orphans and young cancer patients of Bait Abdulla. Below are highlights of the evening and some items that caught my attention.

WHITExpo’s event will be open to the public tonight Sunday 29th July until 31st July at 360 Mall (Um Kalthoum hall). Opening hours are from 8pm to 1am. Don’t miss it!

If you're looking for really unique accessories to dress up your caftan this year, or your outfits throughout the year!, then you must check out Al Mubarak Corner's booth. They had stunning selection of necklaces, belts, earrings, clutches and more. Remember my previous post on them here? The first thing that caught my attention was S O P H I A 2 0 3 beautifully embroidered belts. They're beyond gorgeous! I have previously featured S O P H I A 2 0 3's on my blog here and here.

The necklace below was also displayed at Al Mubarak Corner's booth. A beautiful statement necklace by Maryam Keyhani. Previous posts about the designer here and here.

Another booth that I liked was Neckessories, where you will find a pretty selection of bib necklaces, beautifully embellished collar necklaces, and scarf necklaces (my favorite), I got myself one two years ago when the lovely ladies Basma Al Abdulrazzaq and Zaina Al Anjari started their Neckessories line. You can call them on (+965) 9777-7755 to inquire or order.

Calonge had a cute range of colorful hand-braided leather accessories. Their boutique is located at Tala Center in Salmiya. Perfect for gits!

Spotted these super adorable socks for your little ones at Jelly Beanz's booth

Loved this jewelry selection by a newly established business called FabShop. The pieces are very reasonably priced. I liked the below jade earrings and they were selling them for around KD 120 more or less? They will be opening their own stand-alone boutique at Marina Mall in two weeks time. In the meantime, you can follow them on instagram @FabShop.

The also had a selection of hand/palm bracelets and they were sellin them for KD 20 only!

Sisters Beauty Salon were selling hair chalk, according to the owner it's the best thing since temporary dye, and it easily washes off with water. I instantly remembered instgaramer @itspinko when I saw it.

From runway to real way! I LOVED seeing Chanel's Bombay jewelry collection in action worn by the ever-so-stylish Sarah Al Wazzan of Panacheous. Girl, you rocked it so well.

If you have little kids and want to dress them up in stylish outfits and accessories, you must check out and-etc's booth, the website is owned by Kuwaiti entrepreneurs Muneera Al Sirhan and Nouf Al Besarah. I fell in love with their dainty and whimsical necklaces shown below. I almost bought me one! Price of the necklace? KD 25.

Cool iPhone covers by Circus Maximos, check out the one with the Islamic design, they're not made of plastic, they're made of fiber which makes them.... lighter? Opps I forgot! You can follow them on instagram @circusmaximos

The lovely Sharifa Al Falah of Shugar had a cool selection of casual chic caftans. I bought myself one, and I'll be sharing it soon on instgarm as one of my Caftan of the Day segment. You can e-mail Sharifa for orders or inquiries Sugariya@yahoo.com or call (+965) 6704-4440.

I spy with my little eye a stunning necklace!

Meem Designs were a big hit at the exhibition! And I'm not surprised, their Turkish delights (aka puff chairs) with a C-shaped plexi table in florescent colors look beautiful!

Gorgeous earrings!
Pretty hippie chic style

Fun and cool accessories at Boutiquee's booth

The End... by the lovely Ms. D and her cute Miu Miu flats

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
