Next Destination? Turkey

First let me start by saying that this is not just another promotional post for a travel agency. If it wasn’t for this agency's exclusive and unparalleled services that are beyond your typical agency, I wouldn’t have featured them here. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Acasia Travels. And here’s what’s special about them and why I can’t wait to visit Turkey next time I travel:

  • Acasia Travels‏ offer complimentary CIP greeting which means that you will be greeted at the gate and be fast-tracked through special customs and passport control. That way, you'll feel like a VIP from arrival to departure.
  • They’ll let you stay at Ajia Hotel, a historic mansion on the Bosphorus converted into a boutique hotel (1st photo). The rooms have a full view of the Bosphorus and are stocked with Acqua di Parma toiletries. With its free private boat service, Istinye Park, Istanbul's most glamorous shopping mall/think Grand Bazaar meets Rodeo Drive, is only a 5 minute boat ride away.

  • At Istinye Park, Beymen* (Turkey’s version of Barney’s or Villa Moda) can organize a private fashion show of the season's collection just for YOU.

  • Acasia Travels‏ can also organize private sales of the below Turkish designers in the convenience of YOUR rooms. Designers such as Cashmere in Love, Oye swimwear, Misela bags, and Kismet jewellery.

  • Enjoy personal shopping services. In fact, their personal shopper was featured in Vogue Turkey for her quirky cool style.

  • Get 24/7 concierge service which ranges from booking a restaurant to organizing a meeting with the most sought after wedding planners.
Need another reason to visit Turkey? I have 10 words for you: Harvey Nichols and Hussein Chalayan's exhibition at Istanbul Modern Art Museum. For more info, visit Acasia Travels‏ site by clicking here.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Marie Claire Kuwait

Did you know that Marie Claire, an international women's magazine, has been launched in Kuwait and their second issue is already in newsstands? Winner of the Best Women's Magazine and Magazine of the Year award for 2005, the magazine reportedly has over 14 million readers worldwide with 26 editions in 13 languages across the world. Marie Clair - Kuwait is in Arabic of course. The magazine offers an editorial mix of journalism with glamour, fashion and beauty coverage, and feature stories of lifestyle and serious women related issues. All by an Arabic editorial team. Have you read it? If yes, what do you think of it?

Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora , will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up. I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?
