Meadham and the Masses

Meadham Kirchhoff is not one of those mainstream brands that people instantly fall in love with..  I think you need to appreciate the mix and un-match of their fabrics, the color clashing, and the small details in their designs before you instantly judge the brand.  I personally liked their S/S 2011 runway show and was actually looking forward to the brand's collaboration with Topshop. However, when the collection hit Topshop boutique I was surprised by the pieces. Why? Well, for starters, throwing KD 135 on a Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop tunic top terrified me!! Isn't the whole purpose of having a high street/high end collaberation is to make the designer pieces more affordable and accessible to the masses? I liked the top featured in the first photo (yes I did! the torn details and all, this is probably one of my fashion faux pas moments) but I wouldn't pay THAT much for it.  I'd like to know your thoughts on this?

The max any one must pay in a high st fashion store is 70 kd. Anything above that is redicilous .and the piece should be worth the 70 kd as well. Like the one u shown I would say it should cost around 23 to 29 kd. How would u wear it u got it? I'm interested in knowing

Me too! I though the price was s tad too high for a topshop tunic, regardless of the collaboration

I don't care what the brand name is, you can buy this tunic (a similar design I mean) from any cheap store like Max and tear holes here and there and make it look the same.
Some designers just think most shoppers are stupid and would go with any trend regardless of the price or quality just as long as the name is there...

I think it would look good paired with washed out jeans. But the pricing is waaay too high for it.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
