Retro We Go

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm not a great fan of Juicy Couture tracksuits. However, I actually liked Juicy's girly-retro take on this classic style. The 3/4 sleeve navy colored jacket is embroidered with thick white threads. It's perfect for our not-so-cold weather with dresses or skinny or slim-leg pants. The Jacket was KD 181 and now it is being sold for KD 90.500 at Villa Moda Al-Fanar.

It can't get more retro chic than this. It reminds me of Kuwait Airways cabin crew uniform except they are blue with gold rings. Got to say, we may all hate their guts for the inflight service (or the lack of it) and the crappy on-board meal selection they provide us with but they always seem to get more bang for their money on crew attire and presentation. One could easily mistake their cabin crew uniforms for that of a French or Italian flag carrier. I dunno know it's very Nina Ricci Balenciaga, if you will. And although I meant it as a compliment you can't help wonder why KU doesn't get the likes of Villa Moda or Al Ostoura to commission Valentino, Chloe or Ungaro to design silk Kaftans for them : colour coded for each class of travel.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.

Chanel Logo Buttons Bag

Here’s another magnificent Chanel S/S 2008 creation by the outrageous and original Karl Lagerfeld, ideal for the young and hip fashionable lady on the go that doesn't sacrifice style for comfort (but I’m sure it will break the bank). This uber-chic and roomy black quilted Chanel handbag features a porthole in the center filled with unbelievably charming Chanel logo buttons. The bag is to die for and a collector's item if I may add. I’d be more than happy to fork out my savings to get my hands on this beauty (Please note that I still do not know how much it retails for so a change of heart is possible). Will they get it at Chanel’s boutique in Kuwait? Probably. One piece. Would they sell it to you? With their attitude and “customer service”? Not a chance. And don’t even bother to leave your name and number, they rarely ever call back. Besides, there are always always always at least 20 people ahead of you on their "long" waiting list. Better look for it when you trave...
