My Little Black Dress..and white.. and pink

This year's S/S collection witnessed the return of the short dress especially for the evening. I just love wearing dresses. They're easy to wear, they're fun, they're comfortable (well almost), they’re a little bit 50's & 60's, and they are fabulous. I hope this trend will stay for winter 2008.
During a recent visit to Al-Othman at Mariam Complex, I saw an amazing variety of evening short dresses, which gives you the opportunity to sail through summer nights, draped in some of the most effortlessly designed yet stylish and comfortable short dresses. And the good news? They're on sale! 30% off. Here are my favourites listed as shown on the photos above:
  1. Vera Wang Balloon dress in blush pink. It was KD 898 and now they're selling it for KD 629. It's still expensive but I loved the embroidered detail on the pockets and the color is so romantic.
  2. Erdem White lace dress with black stones. Was KD 1,395, now KD 977. Overpriced but I liked the lacy frils and pleats.
  3. Erdem black lace & organza dress with white lining and black embroidery. Was KD 1,498, now KD 1,049. This looked gorgeous when I tried it on, but still overpriced.
  4. And last but not least, Giles white dress with a cute printed bow. Was KD 487 and now they're selling it for KD 341. Amazing and I would have bought it instantly if it was my size. Giles was a big hit this season and I loved all of his dresses. Too bad they didn't have some of the runway dresses which I fell in love with.

So are you in need of a short evening dress?

Not all the fashion show looks are always put in production.
If they did not have it no one else did

I never knew that! Thanks for the info... Another reason to spend at Alothman.

What if the customer was able to prove that an items at Alothman is actually more expensive than, let's say... Selfridges?

I love the erdem dress, it can take you from summer to fall with a few accessories added.

i feel sorry for you --- so materialistic and shallow. How you use your time is to spend your daddy's money? Do you do anything of value or substance in this life, besides shopping? Donate your time to charities? Help youth? Or simply fill your closet with overpriced items to use a few times? Get a life. God does not like vanity.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
