Sarah's Got Talent

I dare you to go through the pages on this site and not laugh, or fall in love with the illustrations, or at least smile while reading things like:

"No wonder I have had an identity crisis, actually I have never took a decision alone, Sadig, Zaki, Mirawega, aliens and some other creatures are all the time with me, actually they live in my brain, that is why it is pretty messy. They taste my green tea for me in case it is too hot, make sure of what I am saying, weather it is true or not so I stay honest all the time, solve equations, make me less angry, check once and twice that I bought my favorite vanilla lotion and the most important thing that make me super CREATIVE all the time...." and "I am interested in a lot of things I do not even remember right now because Zaki ,the smart one, went to get coffee"

The site, designed and owned by a Saudi graphic designer and illustrator Sarah Taibah, showcases some of Sarah's work and a whole lot of creativity. I came to know about Sarah through Samaher's blog and immediately fell in love with her humorous illustrations. Graduated from Dar Alhekma College in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Sarah's services include packaging, book design, photography, advertising, illustrations and way more. In fact, she has recently published a light-hearted book highlighting some common social issues in our region titled Junk. Featured here are samples of some its pages.

Sarah Taibah has informed me that now she's in San Francisco doing her masters in illustration. And if anyone is interested to get her latest updates or even get a view of her latest works, visit her blog titled Lastika here. To order her book or inquire more about her services, you can drop her an e-mail.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
