Sale Picks at Aïshti

If you’re still hunting for designer duds on discount, you might want to check out Aïshti boutique located in the Avenues. It seems that AlOstura and Aïshti have the same display strategy.  I hate how they display their merchandise and I don’t like to see clothes grouped by color. I prefer for the merchandise display to be grouped by brand. It makes it much easier for me to scan through the hangers, instead of all that digging that I need to do. Nevertheless, they selection in store was very impressive.  I was surprised to find that they were carrying certain brands such as Vera Wang, Markus Lupfer, and Versus by Christopher Kane. So here are some of my personal picks.  Let's start with this black sleeveless dress by Vera Wang with embellished details. Was KD 575 and now it's discounted to KD 403.

White beautifully tiered skirt by Vera Wang, look at the skirt's details on the back

Vera Wang black sleeveless top with pleated details, was KD 346 and now KD 242

A classic chic D&G lace shift dress with bow detail was KD 323 and now KD 226

For off-duty cool, pick up this white Markus Lupfer cotton tee with black velvet print. This top actually reminded me of Antonio Berardi’s dresses, like the sheer one wron by Gwyneth Paltrow in a red carpet event. The top was priced at KD 41 and now it's only KD 29.

If you feel like pulling an "Elizabeth Hurley's circa 1994" with a semi-conservative details then you might want to check out these  laser-cut pieces designed by Christopher Kane for his Versus ready-to-wear debut. I'm in love with the slashes details held together with pink, red, and green aluminum safety pins.  The dress was KD 491 and now it's KD 344.  if the dress is too hot to handle for your taste, you can go for the black blazer shown below, the only drawback? It's still kind of pricey after the discount, I think around KD 400+?

I forgot who the designer is behind these gorgeous sheer peep-toe boots but don't they look stunning?!

Burberry baby pink ballerina flats with knotted detail are perfect for Summer AND Fall. And they don't cost more than KD 80 (I think they were even less!).

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
