Noor Rocks The Vogue

I have received this as an e-mail forward from one of my friends. Apparently, a stylish Kuwaiti girl, Noor Al Humaidhi, was featured in Vogue's website as "New Year's 2008 Street Chic". And let me tell you, I felt so proud to see a Kuwaiti Girl in one of the world’s leading fashion magazine (After all, in Vogue we trust). I Loved the colorful plaid pea-coat and fabulous flat boots Noor was sporting. Kudos to Noor for nailing London's street style AND grabbing Vogue's attention. So what did our fashionista say?

"My coat is from Whistles, which is one of my favourite shops. My gloves are from Prada and my jeans are from Dwell, in the US. For 2008, I think we'll be going back to clean lines and classic looks all worn with high heels. My New Year's Resolution is to add colour to my wardrobe." said Noor.

I saw this picture before in Oniomaniac' blog a while back.
She too loved the coat, which leaves me wondering:
"Am I the only one here who thinks that this particular coat is NOT all that great" ?!!

Dare I contradict Vogue- THE fashion bible?!!

God, I think I'm getting a headache!!

lala I don't like the coat either :/ I think we're both not worthy of reading Vogue anymore ;(
On the other hand I like the overall look but not the jacket the print reminds me of a scottish quilt! Salamat sweetness..

To Noor well done you go girl !

i like the fact that a kuwaiti girl made it in there.. but it is not the magazine . it is "just" the street chic section where there are tons and tons of pictures taken to put in there.
personally i do not like the coat and the outfit as a whole doesnt appeal to me.
but heads up for letting someone photograph her ;)

Ms. Al Humaidhi certainly looks the part on the cover of international Vogue. But does she realize she looks more like Emma Thompson than ET does herself, only she is 20 years younger than her?
As for the coat she is wearing, it is far too Viking for my liking.
Confashions dear, you must not be outdone by Noor. Send in your snapshots to Marie Claire or Libaas and I am sure they'll want to have you as permanent furniture.

I loved her coat because it's sooo fresh and colorful. I'm sick of winter's greys and blacks I guess ;)

The fact that she was featured on Vogue's webpages (even though it is probably hardly ever seen by the bigger fashionable public and it is not THE magazine) is good enough for me ;)

Emma Thompson
Emma Thompson? I can't see the resemblance. I think she looks prettier :) And thank you for the compliment ;) As long as they don't have me as an old couch!

I'm proud of Noor, wtg girl!

It's gratifying to see a society woman from Kuwait making her foray into the glitzy world of fashion and modeling. I am sure she will be an
inspiration to thousands of Kuwaiti lads and ladettes whose life time ambition it is to be Calendar boys and girls and make Kuwait truly very proud of them.

vigue out of vogue
It seems that you did not click on the link which takes you to the vogue's site. Noor is studying for her masters degree and it happens that she dresses in a nice and chic way. Nothing's wrong with that. She's not all about looks... but also BRAINS.

If you find this subject so degrading, why bother to leave your unconstructive criticism. I’m sure you’ll find other blogs that suit your interest.

My comment was misconstrued;if anything it was only meant to flatter not to ridicule or to taunt. She has indeed, shown the forward path to many aspiring youngsters who should like to take up modeling as a part time vocation. Heaven knows if tomorrow the Ford Supermodel agency decides to set up shop in Kuwait given there's no dearth of modeling talent available here!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
