I'm Babylicious

Who’s that cute baby fashionista strutting around in Scoop ballerina flats?

If you’re on the look-out for fun, hip, chic, cute, sweet, sassy, and adorable baby clothing. Then there is a new destination for multi-brand babies and children's boutique in Kuwait. Babilicious.

Babylicious
is not your typical mothercare type of store; this boutique is for people who dress their kids in the trendiest latest duds. The brands are handpicked by the owner herself. Most of the brands are exclusive to Babylicious, and the ones that are not exclusive are usually only sold to one or maximum two other stores.

Babylicious caters to people with different tastes. You can find luxury European brands, high-end French brands, contemporary/funky designers, and conservative/preppy brands, for those who prefer to dress their kids in beautiful clothes that are not funky or punk-rock. Babylicious also carries swimwear, accessories, shoes and books.

At Babylicious, you’ll find yourself in awe at the extensive selection of designers to choose from such as: Iceberg, Kenzo, Jean Bourget, Catimini, Floriane, Splendid Littles, Scoop NYC, Cribrock Couture, Urban Smalls, Florence Eisman, Kate Mack, Trumpette, Minimink, Pediped and Elk Shoes to name a few.

“My mother always had me and my sisters dressed in the cutest clothes and taught us that we each needed to develop our own sense of style. I specifically got into children's wear when I became an aunt! My nephew and nieces are my life and dressing them up has been one of my favorite pastimes.” Explained Babylicoius owner.

“The concept behind Babylicious is, in my opinion, new to Kuwait. We have many designer brand names, we have a few multi-brand boutiques, but you do not come across a children’s boutique with personality, and that is what Babylicious Boutique aims at being: a cozy, funky space that offers the very best selection of the world’s finest designer children’s apparel” She added.

I sooo want to squeeze my feet inside those cute patent flats!!

So how did the name come up? “Well my corporate background is in branding and so I spent a lot of time planning the name of my store, the colors I wanted to use, designing the logo. My goal was to come up with a name that entices people to want to look inside, spend time inside the store, I thought about things that are luscious, delicious, and finally Babylicious boutique was born”. Said Babylicious owner.

Babylicious
is also about to launch an exclusive organic product line that is for babies and adults that includes soaps, oils and lip balm straight from California.

Babylicious caters to newborns and goes up to age 12/14. Currently, the prices range from 8KD for certain items to up to about 40KD. Ideal if you still haven’t bought Eid clothes for kids in the family.

“I really hope people in Kuwait enjoy the unique space that I have created, and I hope that both adults and children will enjoy coming to the store! As my customer-base grows, I plan to grow my sizes with the kids that grow up with Babylicious Boutique.” Added the boutique owner.

“My ultimate goal? That one day the kids of Babylicious Boutique will have their own children who they will shop with in our store! Our Babylicious theme, takes inspiration from Andy Warhol who once said, “the most plain or unfashionable person in the world can still be beautiful if they’re well-groomed.””

And here's a nice surprise for you from Babylicious owner. There will be an exclusive VIP "Confashion Reader Day" on November 1st (Thursday) and whoever brings a print-out of the article/post, will instantly receive a 20% off selected merchandise.

Babylicious is located at Galleria 2000 on the mezzanine floor, which is on Salem Al-Mubarak Street in Salmiya. Opening hours are 9AM-1:30PM and 4:30PM-9:30PM. In Ramadan the opening hours are 10:00AM-1:00PM and 8:00PM-Midnight.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
