Behind the Scenes of Dolce & Gabbana's Kuwait Online Campaign

A few weeks ago I posted about Dolce & Gabbana's boutique event in celebration of the opening of their newest and biggest boutique in the region at Prestige/The Avenues. To celebrate the opening I have been approached by Dolce & Gabbana's representatives to be featured on their online campaign along with other young and influential people from Kuwait. I was really honored to be recognized by one of the biggest fashion houses in the world, besides it was about time to reveal the not-so-anonymous me, that is if it could be called a reveal as I still barely show and yes that was my requirement. What can I say, sometimes I can be annoyingly difficult. So I gladly accepted!

Anyhow, Dolce & Gabbana's Kuwait ambassador and Fashion Editor of Marie Claire Kuwait magazine Zainab Al Abdulrazzaq chose Dar Al Funoon as our photoshoot location, couldn't have been better. This art gallery where regular exhibitions for artists and photographers based in Kuwait and internationally are held is set in a very old Kuwaiti house. So you feel like you're surrounded by rich culture and authenticity. The photoshoot was taken by photographer Andre Shirazi. two days prior to the shoot, we went to Dolce & Gabbana's boutique to make our selection of clothes and accessories for the photoshoot. I picked a black long sleeves lace dress and paired it with velvet pumps in striking red and a pair of huge chandelier earrings.

We arrived early on the day of the photoshoot to have our hair and make-up done. Jihad and Monda D Beauty dolled-us up. I loved their work, the make-up looked flawless. We had our hair done by Abeer

I had such a great time with my photoshoot buddies, they were all so lovely and easy-going. The above photos is the ones used for Dolce & Gabbana's online campaign. From left to right: Zainab Alabdulrazag, Bader Alothman and his wife Reem Alabdulrazag, that's me dressed in black, Noor Al Sabah and Abdulla Alhathran. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos of that hectic but fun day...

The stunning earrings I chose to wear for the photoshoot, they're supposed to be sold at the Dolce & Gabbana boutique, not sure if they're still available or not.

Our hair was styled by the talented Abeer, she did a great job giving each of the girls a completely different hairstyle.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Chanel Bags on Discount?!

If you thought that getting a cheap Chanel bag that's within your budget is something too far fetched, then think again. You'll be surprised to know that Chanel's boutique located at Salhiya Complex is currently selling several bags, that are a maximum 1 or 2 seasons old, on discount . And we're not talking about a 2 or 5% discount here, these bags are 50% off their original price! For some reason I always thought that Chanel bags never go on sale. But I guess the printed ones or the ones that are made out of the collection's main fabric have to go on sale. Anyways, I managed to take photos of these 2 beauties. What I love about those bags is that they're a classic shape that never goes out of style, their print is young and refreshing, plus they're quilted. I think they could be a collector's item. Both bags featured here are sold for approximately KD 250 .
