Event: My visit to the Jewellery Arabia Show in Bahrain

Jewellery Arabia Show, the exhibition for all those who are passionate about jewelry and the finest watches. I've heard about it before from friends and relatives, but I have never been to it until last week when the uber-chic fashion Blogger Dana of The Overdressed, invited me to visit the exhibition in Bahrain. So on Wednesday Dana picked me up from my hotel and drove to Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Center, where Jewellery Arabia Show is currently being held (last day is this Saturday). The exhibition is HUUUGE! 15,000 square meter of space to roam around, and it feature over 600 exhibitors from 30 nations, and it is spread on 3 huge halls. I only managed to go to Hall one and Hall two, where you will see world renowned watches and jewelry European and Asian brands. Some of the pieces on display felt as if they were waiting for me to drool, gaze and even try on. Here's a quick look of just a few of the many many pieces I fell in love with.

So if you have nothing planned for friday and Saturday, I strongly recommend you go check it out, even for a couple of hours. It's totally worth it. Happy browsing (and perhaps a little shopping too)!

Thank you so much Dana and your lovely family for your hospitality and giving me a tour of one of the best and largest jewelry exhibition in our region.

Bracelets and rosary-inspired necklaces by Gemme Couture.

Rubies and green sapphires embellished cuff bracelet from Tresor

More statement cuff bracelets by Tresor

Emerald earrings in their purest form.. they cost around 21,000 bahraini Dinars, which is around $56,000.

They're all real diamond earrings... beautiful!

The above rings are not diamonds but they look nice, they're by a london-based brand called Lucky Eyes.

Beirut-based jeweler Nsuoli had the best diamond solitaire necklaces at the exhibition, and probably the most crowded booth too!

The booth with the most creative designs goes to Wendy Yue, where you will find one-of-a-kind, meticulously crafted, and in limited edition statement pieces. You can view their collection at Bergdorf Goodman (NY), Neiman Marcus (USA), Annoushka at Harrods (UK), Harvey Nichols (UK), Selfridges (UK), and Liberty (UK). I felt like some of the pieces were not meant to be worn, but to be displayed in museums or objects of art, like the ones shown below.

Check out the stunning rings worn by one and only The Overdressed

The Overdressed looking super elegant and chic in her Erdem ensemble

Another booth with the most amazing vintage jewelry was Italian brand Veschatti. You would find unique pieces and collection by top brands such as Rolex, Chopard, Blancpain, Buccellati, David Webb, Scavia, and more.

Statement necklaces displayed at Bulgari's booth

I had to take a photo of Dana's elegant outfit, the mesh black heels are just killing me!

Another booth that had something new to offer is AlZain master jewelers. The designer Karima Sharabi uses arabic calligraphy to create tatto-inspired designs. She uses various arabic words such as: Unity, creativity, balance, confidence, to reflect women's empowerment.

In 1998, Karima was accepted to study at Parsons School of Art and Design in New York. She later transferred to McGill University, Montreal where she completed a BA in Political Science.

And last but not least, the Charles Oudin diamond watches. I didn't bother to ask about its price tag. The craftsmanship of this piece is just amazing!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
