Last Monday, AlOthman boutique held an event in-store to meet the master of feminine silhouette designer Roland Mouret at its newly relocated boutique in Salmiya, Maryam Complex. Guests were able to instantly shop the designer's 2014 Resort collection and view/pre-order his Spring/Summer 2014 collections. First of all let me tell you, the new store is gigantic! A lot of my friends were overwhelmed by selection, which is certainly a refreshing way to shop AlOthman. More on that in a future post. Now back to the Roland Mouret event, Kuwait Jazz Trio were playing live during the event which set the mood right for the evening, and guests were served scrumptious nibbles catered by Le Notre.
The funny thing is I've never owned a single piece by Roland Mouret even though I really wanted to for years. I always wished I'd fit into his iconic dresses like the Galaxy and the Moon. But that would need a fat-free body, which is to me too far-fetched. However, that nigh I have found THE Roland Mouret piece from his Resort collection, a white boxy-fit coat covered in fluorescent pink lace on its front side only. It felt so retro and so perfect for our winter.
I Also had the pleasure of meeting the man of the hour, Monsieur Roland Mouret, who was extremely friendly to everyone, even the sales ladies. I don't think he has ever come across a nation so obsessed with instagram as much as ours! I hope he wasn't overwhelmed by requests to have his photo taken. I also had the pleasure of finally meeting the drop-dead-gorgeous and unbelievably friendly Raya Al Khalifa face-to-face, I've been following her for quite sometime so it was nice to finally meet the person behind those witty instagram posts. She's shown here in the photo-above dressed in her Roland Mouret black dress and lavish gold and black cape.
As with most of events in Kuwait lately, the guests were dressed to-the-nines and looked impeccably stylish. Scroll down for highlights of the event....
Pretty in pink (and pink pineapples!), I loved how this super stylish lady attached the arabic letter pins by ecru to her ecru embroidered clutch, all available at AlOthman boutique.
The fabulous Outfit Bakery looked extremely elegant in her little black dress, I'm in love with the shoulder detail, so very retro-chic!

Excuse the quality of this last photo, it was taken using my iPhone. Featured here are the lovelies and the very fashionable Badra Bin Ali, Me Capi, and LadyB Q8.
