Jewellery Arabia's Gala Dinner

As you may already know, last week Bahrain held one of the most prestigious jewellery exhibitions in the region Jewellery Arabia Show, which I was very lucky to attend it for the first time. You can view previous post here. The night I arrived to Bahrain, I was invited to Jewellery Arabia 2013 Gala Dinner, which was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. So around 9PM, TheOverdressed, one of my favorite fashion bloggers in the region, picked me up from the hotel and off we went to the gala dinner. Needless to say she looked absolutely gorgeous in her emerald green crepe wool dress with flounced hemline and decorative beaded button from Erdem. She cleverly paired it with a shrunken jacket by the same brand, and a matching Nancy Gonzalez clutch. As for me, I chose to go for my Simon Rocha gigantic one side ruffled skrit, paired with my favorite Alaia sandals, layered pearl necklaces, a crepe black top by COS, and my Tonya Hawks clutch.

The formal sit-down gala dinner attracted over 300 distinguished guests that included participants of the exhibition, members of the diplomatic community stationed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and professionals from the jewellery and watches industry. The gala dinner also included several performances by Brazilian professional dancers, It felt like a preview of a Rio carnival. They were amazing. The food?! Yummy, I got carried away a bit with the lebanese appetizers, lost count of how many kubba's I had.  Oh well, never count your claories when Im travelling, that would ruin the moment.

Anyhow, the below two photos were taken from TheOverdressed.com

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
