Women walking down Madison Avenue have certain traits. They looked super dressed and their manes were well coiffured. Not a single hair out of place. And as is the case in almost every shopping-obsessed culture, they were dressed for their other fellow Madison mavens and mean sales assistants. I actually enjoyed people watching on Madison. Made me want to bring the Sartorialist in me. Anyhow, I started the day with Barneys.
As always, the first thing I do whenever I visit this luxury retailer is admire the display and theme. It never disappoints me. Very simple yet very creative. The words are drawn in a way that make the lines look connected to one point and attached to the mannequin.

After a couple of hours of shopping in Barneys, lunch at Fred's at Barney's is a must to fuel up for the Madison Ave. journey. I'm craving the fresh pasta with truffle oil now. 
Back to Madison Avenue, the first boutique I noticed was Hermes. So Kelly is my latest obsession. 
And just across the street to Hermes Boutique was another Hermes Boutique under construction (amazing purchasing power) covered in its famous orange box. I just love how boutiques and stores are covered in the states and Europe when they're under construction. Look how striking the color is used for Devi Kroell's coming-soon-boutique.
