Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora, will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up.

I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?

I'm sure they will have annoying sales ladies as almost every other store in Kuwait does.

I love pretty much all their lip plumpers and their Go Smile teeth whitening travel kits. That's pretty much all I get every time I go into Sephora.

For men, I recommend Shiseodo Men, or Estee Lauder (they don't have a mens' line, but we can still use it :-D)

And I'm a bit stunned on your "Sephora people don't hassle you in the store or make commints on your skin...."!!!!!
the ones in Jeddah certainly do :-)

I am a Paris Gallery person myself - I prefer them to Sephora thank you very much. It's a shame Paris Gallery's still not got a retail presence here in a cosmetics and perfume crazed Kuwait.

I agree with alot of the comments already posted. Sephora in the middle east so far has been quite the disappointment. sales clerks hover over you like there's no tomorrow and they try to sell you a billion and one things.
Also, the products over here in Bahrain are quite limited (same in Dubai). they still haven't gotten the philosophy products, bare minerals, armani, tarte, or any of the things that sephora is really well known for over in the states.
But hey, who knows, maybe the one in kuwait will be different (fingers crossed).

Ahh..you poor girls! I do agree with the Paris Sephora shopper because of one major reason..Some products are available in Paris (have an Armani make-over while you're there!) that are not yet allowed into the USA, thanks to our ever so careful FDA. I bought Armani products in Paris (in September, 2000) that are only now being imported to the USA. I know it goes the other way too, but mostly I just want to hope that it opens with utmost haste for all of you in Kuwait who are waiting for your shopping to get fun!! God Bless all of you!

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Amazing Alia

Several months ago I posted about Alia Designs , a Kuwaiti talented designer of traditional clothes and dresses. Back then, I liked one of the items featured on her website. This time I'm going ga-ga over her latest Ramadan collection of Kaftans and darraa'at! Especially the one shown here on the first picture. Looks very young, comfortable, and oh-so-perfect for after futoor! For inquiries please visit the website or call (+965) 642-7400.
