Thigh's The Limit

Thigh-high boots are all the rage for this season. And now they're slowly popping up in Kuwait's stores. If you're looking for a flat version (my fave so far in the Kuwaiti market), check out the suede fitted version at Jimmy Choo at Salhiya Complex. If my memory serves me right, I think they were around KD 400.

For a high-heeled and loose fitting version, check out Massimo Dutti at Marina or the Avenues. Price tag? Not more than KD 80.

Comments

All during summer, I was dreading winter because I knew about the thigh-high boots trend. I believe they should come with a warning. Anything with too high a heel might make a girl resemble a street walker. Whereas the flat ones give the illusion of detracting from a girl's height. Even the celebs had trouble pulling them off successfully.

Keep up the good work :)

I knooow. With the thigh-high boots trend, there is a very very thin line between trendy and super tacky. I guess the flat versions suit taller girls more. And in Kuwait i think we have to be careful of "where" and "When" to rock this trend.

Mary Poppins
The safest way to pull off this trend in my opinion is to pair them with a pair of dark thick leggings (no dress plz on top!!) and a baggy (or fitted) button-down shirt. And pile on on the accessories everywhere: necklaces, cuffs, bracelets.. etc. Or you can pair it with a no-so-mini dress for formal outings making sure that the dress does not bear too much skin.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
