Breast Care Kuwait

Breast cancer can affect anyone- regardless of who you are or where you're from," said Dr. Nouralhuda Karmani, head of Breast Imaging Unit at Al-Sabah Hospital in Kuwait, and founder of www.breastcarekuwait.org. "People fighting against breast cancer today are mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends- they are people who need our support and acceptance as they battle to regain their health. And we honour their fight when we embrace and share the message that breast cancer screening is vital for all women."

Starting Oct. 4th , the Breast Imaging Unit at Al-Sabah Hospital will schedule appointments for all woman (+40yrs) for Mammograms. The unit will be open weekdays from 8am-1pm & 4pm-8pm. For more info you can visit the website or the booth at Avenues Mall (opposite of Swarovski ).

Good on them! My heart goes out to all those affected by it. And also spare a thought to the unfortunate bloke who comes down with a cancer of the breast ever so rarely - it is sure as hell signing on a death warrant for guys where the disease spreads directly to the chest wall due to a lack of supporting fibrofatty connective tissue subjacent to the breast, in men.
The Avenues is a very good nodal for dissemination of public health information in Kwt: in the past we've seen campaigns on blood donations and now on breast cancer. They should do more of these with a focus on cervical PAP smear testings, prostate cancer, pre-marital counselings for thalassemias and sexual problems as well as for mental health.

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
