Runway Inspirations

I truly believe that there's nothing like the real thing, but I have to give it to Karen Millen for smartly creating designer inspired pieces with very good quality. Karen Millen is located at Al Fanar Complex. So here are my most "obviously-inspired" picks: green satin dress with embellished black belt a la Dolce & Gabbana.

Azzedine Alaia inspired heels with cut-out like details and scalloped edges

Lanvin inspired stain heels with colored crystals detail

Derek Lam inspired dress with adjustable drawstring waist in tangerine

You know what? Sometimes I wonder at what point a designer crosses the line from "following the general fashion trend" to "being designer inspired". Ok in some cases no one makes a dress the way a certain designer makes them and it's not really a trend so when others make the same dress they totally look like they're copycatting! Like for example the classic RM dress was copied in my opinion by at least two other designers. BUT in the case of the stuff you're displaying here embellishments on shoes and belts are showing up everywhere so are they designer inspired or are they just inline with the general trend?

I agree with the first part of your comment. cinching your waist is a general trend, but having the almost identical balck ribbon and brooches embelishment is very copycatting.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Chanel Bags on Discount?!

If you thought that getting a cheap Chanel bag that's within your budget is something too far fetched, then think again. You'll be surprised to know that Chanel's boutique located at Salhiya Complex is currently selling several bags, that are a maximum 1 or 2 seasons old, on discount . And we're not talking about a 2 or 5% discount here, these bags are 50% off their original price! For some reason I always thought that Chanel bags never go on sale. But I guess the printed ones or the ones that are made out of the collection's main fabric have to go on sale. Anyways, I managed to take photos of these 2 beauties. What I love about those bags is that they're a classic shape that never goes out of style, their print is young and refreshing, plus they're quilted. I think they could be a collector's item. Both bags featured here are sold for approximately KD 250 .
