Sirdab 6

Souad J A Al-Sabah is not a new household name, just before Ramadan and the summer season, women in Kuwait of various ages wait in anticipation for the release of Souad’s collection, causing a huge shopping frenzy. it goes without saying that her Caftans are the most sought after pieces and get sold out in less than 2 hours.

Al-Sabah is a talented Kuwaiti designer that managed to turn her vision into a reality when she began her journey into design in 2002. She has triggered a new interest in our design heritage and built a solid reputation for herself, as one of Kuwait’s best Caftan designers around. She mastered the ability to combine vintage and modern fabrics from all over the world to create designs that are unique as the designer herself.

There is also another side of Al-Sabah that many people are unaware of. She's an artist and displays her paintings and artwork at her house’s basement. She also collects vintage caftans that goes back more than 100 years. This has been the influence behind her gallery Sirdab 6. Sirdab is the Arabic for basement and 6 is her house number. Souad’s paintings, designs, and vintage caftan collection are all exhibited in her basement Sirdab 6.

Souad Al-Sabah has become one of the foremost luxury Caftan designers in Kuwait and the region, So if you haven’t already, make sure to add Sirdab 6's Caftan in your most-wanted items list.

She is definitely the one that set the standard for Caftans in Kuwait. All the Caftan designers that came into the picture after her were either inspired by her work or took the easy way out and simply copied her work.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora , will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up. I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?
