Midas Going Retro

Remember my post on IKEA's Audrey Hepburn pop art poster? Well is seems the Audrey Fever has caught Midas Furniture. At their showroom in Shuwaikh, they had Audrey Hepburn on arm chairs and Folding Screen/Paravan. And If you want to pay tribute to the original blond bombshell Ms. Monroe, then buying this stack of mugs would be perfect for you.

Personally, I liked the concept of selling furniture and home accessories with old Hollywood glamor in Kuwait, but when it's manufactured cheaply (the paravan for example), then it looks plain tacky.

more people need to head to midas - surprisingly great items and a local company - we should all be encouraging buying from local suppliers. Do you think ikea stuff is well made??? Even when i get the guys to come and put the stuff together it all inevitably falls to bits x lets all give midas a go

I bought both chairs and I placed a small round table between them, to give that corner of my house a "cafe" feel...

The furniture is not poorly made. It as sturdy as it gets...

I agree.. we should support local companies.. but that doesn't mean we can criticize poor quality of some items ;)

Midas has a lot of stuff to offer, but definitely not long lasting. They follow the trends, so sometimes you end up having to change items yearly due to the fact that its gotten over done.
The great thing about midas is the fact that they carry the brand SIA which is one of the most fabulous artificial suppliers from France.
check them out, they are great for parties and events.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Amazing Alia

Several months ago I posted about Alia Designs , a Kuwaiti talented designer of traditional clothes and dresses. Back then, I liked one of the items featured on her website. This time I'm going ga-ga over her latest Ramadan collection of Kaftans and darraa'at! Especially the one shown here on the first picture. Looks very young, comfortable, and oh-so-perfect for after futoor! For inquiries please visit the website or call (+965) 642-7400.
