Fedor-ian Slip

A few years back a strong trend surfaced among celebs and international fashionistas which was the forties style fedora hats. I saw one recently at Forever 21 and it made me wonder.. why is it that women who wear hats in general are often frowned at in Kuwait?

I don't live in Kuwait. But I love hats. Especially on Lou Dillon in U.S Vogue April 2009. She rocked the hell out of it!

People don't know any better! They can put Nido cans and yogurt cups under their hijab, yet make fun of people who rock great hair accessories like fedoras and netted head pieces!
@ Anonymous...hahaha hilarious! I completely agree...speaking of netted head pieces, did you see Drew Barrymore at the Grey Garden's premiere? She's single-handedly bringing back 40s style netted hair pieces! :) (http://www.cctv.com/program/cultureexpress/20090416/images/1239863941505_1239863941505_r.jpg)

I wore a fedora to the avenues once! Several people came up to me and either asked me where I got it or told me they liked my style. It was good fun for a day :)

I actually loved the netted head piece that Drew Barrymore wore for the première of Grey Garden. Although she got so much negative publicity from it, even putting her in "what were they thinking?"

A lot of people are scared of what people might think, but i say if you can pull it off then rock the hell out of it!!

Fedoras were OK for a while for women in the west. Though anything else was frowned upon.

I remember when SJP wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen hat to the SATC premiere in London and everyone was like what was she thinking. Oddly enough it was male presenters who were saying this, as if they know anything about fashion.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
