Miraduma in Sirdab 6 Caftans

Ever since I've seen these photos of Russian entrepreneur and street style icon Miroslava Duma dressed in caftans by Sirdab 6 by Souad J. Al Sabah for a fashion editorial for Marie Claire Kuwait, and I've been anticipating the exhibition of the designer's Ramadan collection. Unfortunately for me, due to my personal commitments, I was unable to go to the exhibition which was held last week, but my sister did and she got one gorgeous flowy caftan, no photo of it yet, but hopefully soon.

Souad J Al Sabah managed to turn her vision into a reality. In 2002, she launched her unique designs blending culture, design and art. She cleverly combined vintage with modern fabrics to create her own unique signature pieces. Her strive for excellence takes her all around the world in search of the finest fabrics. Her mastermind was behind the famous trend that has swept over the region, the "short dara'a."

According to the designer whom I met recently in a private function, at the beginning, majority of the women of Kuwait were against the concept of a dara'a (caftan) in a modernized world. Dara'as were meant to be worn by the elderly. Ramadan meant wearing tailored suits and skirts. Little did they know that the Dara'a would take over their closets. It quickly became the stamp of Ramadan and has now became a classic cut that women of all ages wear throughout the year.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora , will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up. I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?
