I'm in love with these sculptures of a fat bird and a kitten. I've spotted them a while back at Dar Al Funoon, but I forgot the name of the artist. And of course whenever I remember to call and ask Dar Al Funoon it's either in the middle of the night, like now, or when their office is closed. So I decided to post their photos here in hopes one of my art-loving readers might enlighten me.  

If you've been following me on instagram (@confashions), you'd have probably seen my posts on AlOthman Boutique's recent event, Caftan AlOthman . In celebration of launching Oscar de la Renta's caftans collection, the boutique has handpicked amazing local designers to design limited edition and  exclusive pieces for AlOthman Boutique . The designers who have participated were Reem Al Humaidan ,  Jallabiya by Reem Al Subih, Ghain Ghada by Showg Al Mudhaf, Dal by Dana Al Qabandi, and last but not least Ha'a by Hanan Al Joaan. It was beautiful sight seeing people supporting local talents and mingling with the designers, already 3 out of 5 participating collections have completely sold out by the next day! I sometimes secretly wish I had the creativity and talent to design caftans, but it's too much headache for me... for now at least. 

Beirut-based boutique Orient499 , which is known as the extravagant hub for all modern ethno-chic fashion, jewellery, furniture and home accessories, will be hosting an exhibition this Monday 2nd June with Iwan Maktabi at Dar Al Funoon in Kuwait City, from 11am to 9pm. The exhibition will be on until Thursday 5th June. Here's an exclusive sneak peek of what to expect.

Chanel accessories are probably impossible to get tired of or get rid of. Yes we might stop wearing them for a while but we always go back to them even if it's after a period of years. I spotted a selection of new accessories such as oversized pearl necklaces, patent leather boy bags in bright gem colors, and shoes decorated with strings of pearls. What do you do when a girl whom you've been secretly crushing over her sense of style opens up a multi-brand concept store? You cancel all your plans for the day and zoom head straight to her new fashion home, aka the store. That's exactly what I did when I heard Sarah Al Mussalam, one of the co-founders of  BLAQ , opened up a concept store for men and women at Shuwaikh's Altelal Complex. Naturally and as expected, it did not disappoint on brands selection, price, or service. The cool thing was that I felt right at home from the moment I walked in the door, on my left was a seating area that could perfectly fit into any modern-loving home, and to my right was a small kitchenette with it's cozy seating area, which soon will be a full-functioning cafe for passer-bys and shoppers. It's amazing to see a business grows from a low-key online shopping site to a full throttle brick and mortar store. I have previously posted about Kuwaiti entrepreneur Fudha Al Ateeqi's brain child Paper-Design here , now with her expansion and re-modeling, her brand has its own boutique in KIPCO Tower in Kuwait City, and is officially known as Paper and Nest .   I finally managed to pay the store a visit the other day and met up with Fudha. Small in space but rich with goodies and eye candy, the store was filled with paper goods, gifts, and accessories for you and your home. I loved how every corner had its own character and at the same time they all synched together. I got myself a bright yellow S'well bottel, a non-leaching and non-toxic stainless steel bottle, that keeps your drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12. I've been using it for my herbal teas when I go to work and my co-workers instantly fell in love with it! I highly recommend...

Look who got caught by the  Céline bug! Kourtney Kardashian was recently spotted carrying the bag of the season,  Céline's  tie bag, similar to the one I have in yellow. I like the two-toned version too. 

One of my close friends is very fashion savvy, she really knows her A's to Z's of fashion. We often share the same outlook about the industry, not to mention the same unplanned purchases. And she's one of the few people who has an eye for new designer. She just recently shared with me a new name to the fashion world:  Rosetta Getty .  I have gone through her  sophisticated  lookbook A/W 2014 and was amazed by how beautifully innovative her dresses and separates looked, from the colour and cut to the fabric and the fit, every classic item was re-interpreted in a very modern and unexpected manner. That shirt dress with knot details looks perfect alternative to Ramadan's caftans, and the floor-length blazer/coat looks sensational.  I tried to find the designer's website but my attempts failed, good thing I had a soft copy of her lookbook to share my favorite looks. I don't think I'll ever get bored of Charlotte Olympia’s whimsical shoes, they have this magical thing to whisk you away to another fun-filled world. I loved this nautical-inspired anchor slipper I spotted at Harvey Nichols Kuwait the other day. Makes me wanna sail far away, as far as  Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc  in Antibes to be more precise. Le siiiiiigh.... A girl can dream. 

In my previous posts about  Céline's  event which I have hosted for my close family and friends, I have mentioned that all my guests received a fabulous goody bag from  Céline,   an adorable business card holder/coin purse shaped as the iconic  Céline envelop clutch. Comes in handy now for summer travels, don't you think?
