When Life Gives You Lemons

I have received an e-mail from the representatives of ecru, a new Kuwait-based Homeware brand for those who enjoy simple luxuries, both beautiful and functional.

ecru girls shared with me this behind the scenes little teaser video of When Life Gives You Lemons. The full lookbook will be out by the end of this week, and the collection will be sold during ecru's invite-only launch at the pop-up shop at Dar Al Funoon on Tuesday 23rd of April, 2013.

The video has intrigued me enough to visit ecru's blog and find out more about what they have been up to. I came to know that they have designed ‘Carmen’, a hand carved wooden bowls lacquered in a special varnish and carefully silver leafed. ecru has also joined forces with the talented Sophia Edstrand of Sophia 203, whom I have previously featured on my blog here and here, to create an array of products that will add a little bit of fantasy into your life.  So expect exquisite embroidery techniques used on homeware and contemporary accessories.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora , will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up. I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?
