Gucci Icon

Remember back in November I posted about Project X? Well, last week was the reveal of the project. This might not be news to some of you, but I'm sharing it anyways. So Ladies and gents, I'm excited to announce that Gucci, in collaboration with Canvas magazine, have chosen yours truly as one of its icons. Yup! That's me in the photo above! When the hunter becomes the hunted...

To mark the opening of of the new Gucci store in Kuwait, Canvas searched for icons in Kuwaiti Society who embody the brand's values. And selected them to be included in Icons for Icons, a coffee table book where talented Kuwaities in various creative fields are profiled, dressed in Gucci's iconic signature pieces, and photographed by jewelry designer Nadine Kanso. As a fashion blogger, I must say that I'm extremely flattered to be selected as an icon and to be among such great talents and inspiring people. Some of the photos that were taken are currently on display at the store.

The Gucci and Canvas team hosted a private event at the store to celebrate the completion of Icons for Icons. Below you will find highlights of the event, and I'll be sharing more photos in another post too.

During the event, I came to know about Gucci's Première Collection of couture gowns, a line that you won't find on Style.com or on the runway, or even casually displayed in store. The couture gowns would be sold by appointment and used to dress top celebrities for big red carpet occasions. If you go to Gucci store today, you will find the actual gowns that were worn by Hillary Swank, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Alba. The pale lilac embroidered silk gown with crystals featured here, was Alba's gown, my god how tiny her waist is!!

Antique white embroidered silk georgette gown with silver micro beading and metallic thred which was created for and worn by Kate Beckinsale.

Nadine Kanso's designed Bil Arabi ring was worn by one of the guests

And of course the always elegant  Nadine Kanso was wearing a gorgeous pair of earring, her design bein sur.

Check out this gorgeous statement necklace by Gucci

The embellishment is amazing!! Remember when I posted last year about Gucci's sample dress which I so badly wanted to fit in for the photoshoot?

Now how cool is this men's bow tie??!!

Givenchy... hearts hearts hearts, and Chanel below... love the leather gloves and that adorable clutch. Beautiful people <3 br="">

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
