I passed by Dress Code Project the other day, an art exhibition hosted by The Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) and curated by Amal Makkawi and Martina Corgnati. They showcased the works of twelve artists hailing from Algeria to Pakistan and from Turkey to Egypt to the Emirates, via Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. It was interesting to see how the artists used various techniques and forms of
expression to create unwearable dresses with a hidden message, think collage, multimedia, photography, industrial material, and installations. Featured here are some of the dresses that caught my attention.
The Contemporary Art Platform is located at Life Center (Industrial Shuwaikh, Block 2, Street 28, Top floor). The same building as Eureka/Midas. The exhibition will be on until 21st December.
Can you imagine the time and effort it took to create the dresses shown in the photos above and below? Amazing.
