How Was Your Halloween?

I got this Maison Michel's lace mouse ears hairband last year from Boutique 1 and wore it to a Halloween party. I fell in love with it and hoped to have the guts to wear it to a wedding or party too. That of course never happened. So I started wearing it around the house!! But only for a couple of hours because the look on my family's face when they saw me wearing it while making a sandwich in the kitchen was priceless. Oh well... I'm still keeping it!

Dina Jsr...A Name You Need to Know Now

I came to know about Dina Jsr , a fresh and new fashion talent from our region, through a friend. So I visited her website to find out more about the designer and her collection. And let me tell you, I was instantly amazed by her work and her profile.  Even though Dina has a jewelry design BA from Central Saint Martins and a diploma in diamonds and semi-precious gems from the Gemology Institute of America (GIA) under her belt, her passion for fashion led her to enroll in evening classes at the Beirut branch of ESMOD: fashion design and also got a ten-month internship with renowned fashion designer Rabih Kayrouz .  Dina has just recently debuted her first collection, and while skimming through her designs online you can see that the cocktail dresses and evening gowns she has designed focus on architectural details and feminine accents. And that's not all, Dina paid strong attention to the finishing of her designs (look closely at the close-up photos), a quality rarely found i...

In the Wild

Just when I was thinking about what to wear for my next casual chic outing (getting bored with my wardrobe selection) Closet Candy comes and does it for me.  The Kuwait-based online boutique has just unveiled its brand new and drool-worthy  A/W lookbook . And I loved everything about it, the on-trend styling, the great quality of the photos, and that beautiful make-up. You know what? It really felt like getting that same feeling of excitement when receiving the latest issue of your favorite fashion magazine. A must read and observe. Click here to view rest of the looks.

Another Floral Blazer to Love

I spotted a budget friendly floral blazer the other day at River Island store at the Avenues. What I liked about it is that it had two combinations of floral prints of the same color scheme. Price tag? KD 35. I only wish it came with matching pants. Of course mentally I instantly started creating the look to go wih this floral blazer starting with the accessories, like these very Bottega-like beetle rings which I have spotted at Bimba & Lola boutique in 360 Mall . And a cute oversized envelop-style clutch also from River Island .

Skulls Mania

Italian designer Mario Pini's collection has stolen my heart. Pini is a jewelry designer whom I’ve only recently became familiar with and I’m head over heels in love with designs of earrings, necklaces, rings, and cufflinks and the way he decorated them with skulls. In case you haven't noticed I have a weak spot for skulls! I mean look at that black diamond futuristic-looking skull ring on the above photo (notice the manicured finger detail on th mouth)! This is what a statement cocktail ring is supposed to look like And yes I'm going through a jewels phase! And it's scaring me! Check out the rest of Mario Pini's fabulous collection by clicking here .

I Need a Dinar

I need a dinar dinar, a dinar is what I need hey hey Well I need a dinar dinar, a dinar is what I need hey hey And I said I need dinar dinar, a dinar is what I need And if I share with you my story would you share your dinar with me Listen to the song here Feast your eyes on the ring here

Just Like Prada?

I spotted some budget-friendly variations of Prada's pleated seventies-inspired dress and shift dress at Karen Millen boutique during my stay in London. They'd look hot paired with these Bimba & Lola white frame studded sunglasses shown in the last photo I'm sure they'll be getting the dresses soon in Kuwait, if not already on display. And yes, the Prada ones are by far much nicer. Especially when you pair them with those killer colored python boots. Sigh... we NEED Prada in Kuwait. Period.

Rock That Party

If you're looking for some new bracelets to add some flavor to your "arm party" á la Man Repeller style, then you might want to check out Mélange boutique located at 360 Mall.  I spotted some nice selection of fabric covered bracelets, leather wrap-around bracelets, and ones adorned with pretty stones, crystals, and studs.

What's Not to Love

As promised in my previous post , I'd like to share with you the 4 reasons why I just couldn't restrain myself from buying one piece only while shopping at N Boutique :  That razzling dazzling drenched in pearls top Holly Fulton's top with embellished detail on one side and in the loveliest shade of Tiffany blue These statement-making collars And last but not least, that oversized Hudson clutch !

Debenhams Got its Groove Back

Debenhams have really upped their game! While in London, my friend recommended that I take a quick look at Debenhams's new line of clothing called Edition .  It's a new range of  polished chic dresses, soft tailoring and statement coats by fashion designers Jonathan Saunders , Preen , shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey , and Roksanda Ilincic . So We headed straight to the store to check out the selection and I did find some pieces that I really liked, their quality is great, and what I liked even more is the price tags naturally! The sales lday told me that these designers will work with Debenhams for a minimum of four seasons. It's so refreshing to see such stylish pieces at Debenhams , it added some spice to its blah collection. I'm not sure if the collection is (or will be) available in Kuwait, but here's a quick glimpse of the Edition line.

Do You Like What You See?

What started as a quick shopping trip at N Boutique to grab that lips covered Hulton piece (just want to make my wardrobe happy and current), has morphed into an unintentional shopping spree at the worst financially challenged time thanks to this gorgeous Reece Hudson envelope style oversized clutch, plus other items which I'll be sharing with you later.  The contrasting textures of exotic and plain leather on the clutch and the fact that I can comfortably fit my belongings and have a bit of room for the extra junk, makes this Reece Hudson bag stand out and so hard to resist!  N Boutique , located at Burj Jassim, has a selection of Reece Hudson bags in various colors and their prices start at around KD 210  for the plain leather ones. *Photo credit: Tommy Ton

Everybody Wants to be a Cat

The much sought-after printed pencil skirt of this season by Givenchy is even better looking up close and personal with its black creepy cool black panther-print. I spotted it at the brand's boutique in 360 Mall and I am in LOVE with it! There is just so much beauty that I don’t even know where to begin!! Thank you Riccardo Tisci for delivering mindblowing lust-worthy pieces every season!

Let's Give Them Something to Talk About...

I spotted these pieces by Holly Fulton at N Boutique the other day, and being a sucker for quirky cool prints, I had a hard time deciding on which one to get. I'm immensely intrigued by Holly Fulton's big references to art deco in her textile designs. Especially this season, where she incorporated lot of lips in her patterns. Such statement patterns and probably a a conversation starter....

Marnilicious

Those gorgeous green embellishments, the sparkly details, and those to-die-for geometric patterns in both subtle and pastel shades! Sigh! Stunners! I was instantly captivated the moment I saw Marni's F/W 2011 collection on the runway and now that I found out that the same pieces have hit K-town, I'm over the moon! It's been a while since the last time I saw something I lusted over at Marni . A word of warning though if you're planning to go there, be prepared to spend some serious dough.
