Kate Busby is an artist and photographer who e-mailed me a few months ago to help her on a fashion dilemma she had back then. When she introduced her self as a "a 27 years young half British half Kuwaiti artist who has never lived in Kuwait before" I was intrigued to find out more. So I asked her if she can share with me some of her work and she kindly provided me with photos of her work and a link to her website. Through the "Press" link I came to know that Kate uses art and her camera to re-discover her roots. She studied literature in Oxford University in the UK. And then she worked in a London art gallery where she got her big break. She got an all expense paid trip to Venice Biennial, a major contemporary art exhibition that takes place once every two years and was held in UAE earlier this year, and stumbled on an exhibition called Edge of Arabia, a pioneering exhibition that has shed new light on the largely unknown contemporary art and culture of Saudi Arabia, where she was offered a job right there and then. Her job was to search for modern art from Saudi Arabia to showcase in London. Which then led her to work with JAMM, an agency which supports contemporary art movement in the Middle East and beyond. After Kate's introductory email, she visited Kuwait briefly for the first time. And sent me this cute photo of her self (1st featured photo) wearing her newly purchased outfit from Zara, head to toe.
Featured here are some of Kate's art work and photography (check out how cool the last photo is where Kate appears almost invisible or see-through). To find out more about Kate Busby and her work, please click here.
