The layered-up look is a skill that I don't master correctly when I'm pressed for time. However! I discovered that some transitional tops, especially the ones that give the illusion that they're two pieces when actually they're one, can speed up the process of getting that prefect casual chic layered up look. So while shopping at FashCode, located at the Avenues phase II, I was immediately drawn to these cool and unique pieces and bam! I immediately started visualizing how they beautifully complimented other pieces in my closet. Like this Eyedoll cape-like coat with pretty lining, priced at KD 175. I imagined paring it with my full striped skirt, fitted long sleeves top (preferably in a bright color), cinching the coat with a skinny distressed leather belt, and finishing the look with a pair of dark brown Proenza Schouler lace-up heels and thick wool socks.
Oh! and the coat came with this jewel! cute!
This is the two-in-one piece which I was referring to earlier in my post. The Camilla and Marc knitted top with attached chiffon silk top is priced at KD 155 but I think it should be on sale since it's from the S/S 2011 collection. It also works well with the above jacket!
And voila! Easy peasy layered look!
And on a different note, I loved this Risto galaxy-print silk top. Very Christopher Kane-ish! And a great piece for layering. Price tag? KD 139.

Yes its OK to wear a maxi skirt if you're short, you just have to find the perfect length and the right fabric.
it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by a maxi skirt, so pick one that does not cling to the body, think light chiffon or crepe, and you MUST wear it with towering bulky heels and a fitted (not tight) top or a kimono-style flowy jacket and a statement necklace.

Really?! Thank you I didn't know that! I must pass by sometime soon, I haven't shopped there for quite sometime! :)
Thanks for sharing :)
