Fashion's Night Out California Style

Even though I couldn't make it to any of Fashion;s Night Out events, my lovely sister (Miss YOU!) celebrated her FNO California style baby! Yup, she spent her day/night at The Fashion Island. The festivities included dozens of in-store fashion and beauty events, giveaways, sweet treats and DJs throughout the center. And knowing how obsessed I am in fashion, she has taken some photos of some of the events that took place over there (bless her heart!). Excuse us for the quality of the photos as she used her mobile to take them.

Fashion Island held its own fashion show showcasing clothes from participating retailers.

Fashion Island kicked off Fashion's Night Out with a Fall Fashion Presentation hosted by celebrity stylist Melis Kuris (sitting on the left) in the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdale's Courtyard, where she shared trend tips and Hollywood fashion secrets with the crowd.

Neiman Marcus held an event called The Art of Draping where five FIDM/Fashion Institute & Merchandising Alumni draped glamorous evening gowns during the reception.

Also at Neiman Marcus, Nancy Reigelman, FIDM Instructor, fashion illustrator and author created fashion illustrations during the reception.

And finally, Neiman Marcus organized a The Art of Fashion Fall Fashion Parade, showcasing the season's latest designer trends.

I spy with my little eye something that begins with the letter P! PRADA!

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
