Last Moda Standing - Part III

This is the final post of my findings at Villa Moda's grand sale in Shuwaikh's Free Trade Zone. You know, rummaging through the clothes and accessories at VM,  you can build your spring wardrobe to be inline with the season's trends. I picked some pieces that would help me rock trends such as: color-blocking, stripes, florals, wild prints mix and unmatch, and Mad Men and Black Swan inspired fashion items.

Elegant yellow and black lace dress by Peter Som. Was KD 628 and now KD 157
I remember this dress from Jonathan Saunders’s S/S 2010 collection! I have posted about the collection here before. Such a pretty piece. Was KD 630 and now KD 315.

Missoni strapless printed dress. Was KD 1,073 and now KD 268
Little black dress decorated with green beads by Behnaz Sarafpour. Was KD 577 and now KD 144.250

I call this printed shift dress the Mad Men inspired dress by Giambattista Valli. Was KD 628 and now KD 157.

Even pieces by my latest designer crush Rodarte were there!

Metallic brocade jacket and skirt by Dolce & Gabbana for older ladies. Jacket was KD 442 and now it's priced at KD 110. Skirt was priced at KD 289 and now KD 72.

Tutu skirt by D&G was KD 821 and now KD 205

It's pretty sad that they are closing, it realy is the the end of an era. A friend of mine just told me that they are selling off the Marcel Wonders designed furniture at the Villa Moda Bahrain location.

Why did they decide to close?

I'm not sure how it started or the exact reasons behind Villa Moda's fall.. but I think (and I could be wrong) that it all started when the Villa Moda company got listed on Kuwait Stock Exchange and expanded regionally... I think maybe they stretched themselves too thin. Plus the economic crisis took it's toll on all companies, esp the ones with huge credit lines... I guess it was a mix of all the above mentioned factors and maybe more...

Hi, this is going to seem like a very dumb question, but I'm new to Kuwait and have never been to Villa Moda, and I think this could be my last chance! Can you please tell me where it is and if you have their number that would be great!

Thanks

Thank you Confashions for covering the sale so diligently that I can't wear any of the pieces you listed now because everyone will know it's atleast 3 seasons old and probably 70% off! CRINGE!

So much for discreet bargains. I think you're doing your part as a fashion blogger a little toooooo well!

My pleasure :)
It's in Shuwaikh's free trade zone close to the Movenpick Hotel. I'm not sure if this number is still valid but you may try calling them at (965) 2482-7004.

LOL! My pleasure ;)
Honestly? You shouldn't care what other people think! Fashion is all about personal style and how you pull off the pieces not when you bought them and how much you paid for them. Besides, with the amount of merchandise available in-store now, believe me, you'll find stuff worth buying which I haven't featured (if that's an issue to you)

Hey there and welcome to Kuwait :)
Unfortunately, I don't know the exact address, but you can't miss it. It's the only huge greenish building in the free trade zone :)

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
